I took this close-up of Jesus on the cross which was in a very old cemetery and then when I saw these words on a church marquee, “Jesus built a bridge with two boards and three nails,” I added them to the photo. Something to really meditate about!

I’m bringing out the BIG GUNS. / This painting is an Acrylic on Canvas 36×48. / I finished painting it in 1994; I call it my testimony painting. It shows the moment of my salvation; that instant when God reached down and snatched Satan off of me and changed my eternal destiny. / Look down to where the dragon is reaching and you will see me hanging backwards off the edge of the cliff. I had reached this point in the drug world where overdosing was becoming a regular event. I lived with a “death wish” and had begun to take it up to the next levels. My God is an Awesome God and he rescued me! / On the scale of my paintings, or any other art forms, this piece remains the single longest work of my career. I don’t think the great Carmelite saint, John of the Cross, was urging us to shut up about our sorrows in this quote; rather, I believe he was reminding us that in the midst of our anguish there is more comfort from the silent Suffering Servant who feels our pain and embraces us within His own than in all the words of frustration, complaint, or explanation we might try to express.

All Eyes On Peace It is these days more important than ever I guess. Specially through all the religious wars going on. No religion on this world promotes or indicates war, its the people alone who “think” it is, turning facts to make it sound it’s a clear fact, which is not. No matter if you are a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Buddihst or etc. we all learned through our religion that peaceful coexcistence is the key to treat us with love, success, health and if God is willing, with eternal life (thereafter). I created this once as school work but my wife loved this idea so much that she asked me to make somethign out of it, well my friends, I just did. To support peace, mutual respect, love and honor. You only have one life, and its way too short as to waste it in hate, intolerance and ignorance. :)
