I hope you’ve noticed already, but this is a reminder: I’m now a moderator on the Redbubblers Group. I asked a few nights ago, and got status almost immediately. Schweet. But I have slight problem: The group is filling up with MY work. It needs more of your great artwork. So we formally request you to upload and submit your art, t-shirts, or writing that is specifically about Redbubble and how great / addictive / fun / enjoyable / addictive / interesting it is for all of us. We are waiting for your submissions right now. The key to getting accepted: Submit work that includes red bubbles, has the red-dot (any size) and/or says ‘REDBUBBLE’ ... and as part of a shirt-print, or a photograph (ie, red balloons, red full moon), and most redbubble written help and instructions will get accepted. / View the current art to see what fits the criteria. Think of this group as a ‘homage’ to the fantastic life we have on Redbubble.

I recently got caught up in a frenzy of excitement (after receiving a payment from RB) and ordered some mini moo cards for promotional purposes. These are approx 28mm (h) by 70mm (w), and mine turned out like this… You get 100 in a pack for $20 USD, and can upload up to 100 images. I did 20 images using a customised moo Photoshop template (below), each with 3 Tees. This gave me 5 cards of each variation. The whole set (of 20) can be seen below (click for larger view): I actually saved ‘large’ preview images from RB (removing the watermark) and then batch resized them in PS to 260px (quicker than taking my originals and doing the same). I then just dragged and dropped them onto the template in Photoshop and moved them around in the different ‘slots’ until I’d got 20 variations (a couple were intentionally doubled up). I’m happy with the result (quality of the card and laminated matte print is good) and now all I’ve got to do is work out who to give them to !! :) / Links: Moo printing Moo original templates (‘cos it took me a while to find it) My mini-card Photoshop template (with guides for adding 3 ‘square’ designs)

For those who don’t know, RedBubble recently held the Sound Challenge, in which everyone could submit a shirt. I submitted my Whistle Boy shirt, but thought I probably wouldn’t really get very far, as there were so many great entries. But then I made it to the top twenty thanks to everyone’s votes (again, thank you to everyone who voted for me!). And still I didn’t think I’d actually make a chance of winning this. Until I found a bubblemail in my inbox (from the great Jazzyjane) congratulating me for winning. =P So yes, I was announced the winner in this competition. I’m absolutely thrilled that I was picked, and so I’d like to thank everyone who supported me, RedBubble for having contests like this one and of course Demo for working with RedBubble and for picking my design. =) / If you want to check out the other 4 winners, be sure to check this page: Sound Competition Winners. I want to take a second out of design time and uploading t-shirts to explain to YOU in the most simplest of ways how AMAZING Redbubble is. This post will hopefully inspire you to become involved in many ways within this amazing website. I’m going to try something a bit different and write the rest of this post about my day on redbubble, with a SLANG theme…just to show you that these are my thoughts and words and I mean them very much and also because it’s a lot of fun! - Redbubble = Sik. Like totally. I mean like you hop on the net, pop open the homepage and check out some awesome art and stuff. There’s pics of people wearing some shirts and holding some art, new IN-YOUR-FACE designs, GROUPS overloading with creativity and a cool COMMUNITY. That’s what keeps me here; the COMMUNITY I mean. Like, I upload a fresh design, slam on some links in the description and send it off to a few GROUPS. Then, after it’s all uploaded, I wander over to some fresh stuff, show my respects by dropping some comments and favouriting the work and if it’s totally mind blowing I may even add the artist to my WATCHLIST (coz you never know what cool designs will come next!). I pop back to MYBUBBLE every now and then to check out the progress of my latest design and WHAMMO! Usually I have at least one comment that I can enjoy and REPLY to; It’s all about the REPLY people! Most of the times the comments are awesome, even if they are only a sentence long, and they inspire me to keep smashing it up! If for some reason I don’t have a comment on my new piece (probably coz its only been 1 minute) I go and check out more cool new works on the BUB. When I find some more slamming pieces I send off a few BUBBLEMAILS directly to the artists letting them know how SIK I think their work is! Then I might read one of the latest BACKSTAGE posts from the main REDBUBBLE PEEPS behind the scenes and get totally inspired again to create some new stuff! Thank you to the anonymous buyer who a few moments ago purchased my Lovely Lemur tee in the army brown color. I was coincidentally logged onto RB when the sale came through and gave me a pleasant surprise. I hope you enjoy your Tee! Sadly, the artwork that the lemur tee design came from is presently missing (might have gotten thrown away during a house cleanse! Hopefully not, but it’s been missing several months now and there are only so many places it could be in a four room apartment!). But I am glad that the artwork lives on in this tee design :) As this is the first lemur tee sale I’ve had, the buyer can be proud to know that as of this moment, they are the ONLY person that will be walking around with this design.
