In Thailand there are places known as “floating markets” where local merchants bring their produce and wares each morning to sell amongst themselves (in today’s world, mostly to tourists). The merchants either set up along side the waters of the canals or take to their boats and sell directly from the water. Fresh fruit, noodles, soups and meats abound. Many of the vendors will actually have open fires in their boat on which to cook your food on the spot when you order. The meals are cheap and delicious. I shot a photograph of this Thai woman (Damnoen Saduak Floating Market outside of Bangkok Thailand) stacked with produce from another boat. For a small fee you can hire a local to paddle you around the canals to see all the vendors.

This is from a photo of one of my pop art acrylic paintings. The subject is a costumed woman with two red hula hoops.

My Little Red Flower is a photo of my dear red headed wife Thamara with red tulips, taken at Keukenhof Park Holland. In this photo I decided to remove all background colors in order to emphasise the red elements of the photo and especially the reflection of the red light from the tulips on Thamara’s face.
