Just taking a brief break from Africa. I took this on a road trip through Arizona. It reminded me a bit of outback Australia. This is the famous Monument Valley where John Ford shot many classic John Wayne westerns. Classic cowboy country,

This is one of many faces Yukon Skies take. The whole sky was as red as red can be. It was beautiful… There are the original colors… no modifications made here.
Red squirrel with cone of white bark pine tree. I was on top of the Beartooth Mountains in Montana looking for bear ( the cone of the white bark pine is great bear food ) but all I found was this guy. He wouldn’t share.

I finally made it out to Mount Wilson…a beautiful spot in the Blue Mountains, West of Sydney…beautiful especially during autumn….the air is crisp and fresh and the colours are breath taking. I found this little family out in the sun right next to a beautiful pine tree, by the side of the road…. I finally managed to get this shot of one of our garden European Robins as he stopped by one of our feeders. Robins are so fast to and from the feeder that I’d all but given up! ;o) I think he’s saying “oh no, the old bat got me this time!” Still it is the least he can do for feeding him and his pals all year round. British Robins especially look awful cute, are very good at supervising the gardener, but can be territorial and stroppy little featherballs!

I was hiking at McDowell Creek County Park, Linn County, Oregon and ran across these berries. I don’t know what they are …. but they fascinated me and I snapped their photo. Photo taken with Nikon D80. McDowell Creek County Park Visitors to the crystal clear waters of McDowell Creek will be rewarded with beautiful visits of Royal Terrace and Majestic Falls from the bridges and viewing decks along the trails of this lush green park. The wild horses of the Red Desert roam across the landscape, and I rarely see the same band twice, but I would certainly recognize this stallion that I call The Jester… what a flashy guy! Canon 40D, f10, 1/400, focal length 250mm (that’s pretty close for wild horses). Featured in Those Colorful Paints (APHA) and Pintos, October 2009 – thank you so much!

On Canson paper, Ink Pens, Art pens, Acrylic and Irridescent acrylic. Doodling with ink pens one evening; i started from the centre. I was having fun mirroring and repeating images as this mandala appeared. This one is all free-hand, no tools (like the compass, ruler etc) so a surprising creation for me! The colouring was also lots of fun; the art pens can be “washed” into a watercolour effect, and the colours swirled into each other, and then some details were added with paints. Wild and vibrant! / Passionate and fun!
