I’ve ordered the t-shirt for myself, and can’t wait for it to arrive in the mail – and now someone else has also ordered this very exciting and beautiful t-shirt (Lol!). So, I’m very excited!! Today is the love of my life’s birthday!!! He is turning 30 years old!!! To help celebrate, I have decided to buy him some t-shirts – one of my own and one from another lucky Red Bubblian. So, without further adieu, I present the Greg’s Birthday Contest!!!!!! From now until October 1st anyone can submit a t-shirt design to this contest by adding a comment below. Here are the rules: The design must be on a t-shirt. The design should be tagged with GregBday08 (please tag your work if you want to have it considered, because we will be using this tag to browse the entries). You should place a link to your work in the comments section below. A simple link will do, but a photo link will be even better (brownie points!). There are no requirements for theme, style, or color (just make sure it follows standard Red Bubble Guidelines). You may want to read the below, short list of his likes to get an idea of things that will catch our eyes. Designs should be your original work and all sources should be cited appropriately. If it is one thing I abhor, it is designers who use images or other material from the internet and then do not give proper credit. So, please give credit where credit is due. Thirty-five layers and close to ten hours later, I came up with a red sexy shoe in vector art. Making the t-shirt design was quick enough because what I wanted to do was very clear in my mind. Examples of quilting have been found in tombs of Pharohs dating back to 3400BC. Joseph’s coat of many colors was probably patchwork. Even armour was made by quilting heavy fabrics together. Quilted bed covers were recorded in household inventories from the 17th century. Patchwork quilting has even evolved into an art form known as art quilts. You really do rock and excel at what you do. other works that sold this week from my studio / / This week I was thrilled that I sold an original painting of Two Dolls along with 2 giclee prints – one of Ocean Angel and the other of I’m a Little Teapot to a lady in Victoria who made contact privately. I have never met her before, and not sure if she saw me on RB or my website or was referred by another…I must ask her, it’s good to know these things. Thought it might be good to provide some examples of how they might look on the wall stretched as canvas prints or as giclee paper prints under glass… what you see here are giclee prints on canvas done on my printer of Ocean Angel and Two Dolls, one is stretched by the framer professionally, and the other was stretched by my husband on a A3 board… the “I’m a Little Teapot” is the original painting in a white box frame… gives you some idea of how they look up on the wall… always so much nicer once framed or stretched.. but i sell most of my work loose, it’s so much easier to post that way, and then one can choose the frame and matt or style they prefer to best suit the home/wall/paint colour. These are purely examples…but give a good indication. / If you’re interested in an original painting, please contact me for availability and price, alternatively, originals not available are still available as prints here on redbubble.
