Watch the Video here Feel it falling off like clothing / Taste it rolling on your tongue / See the lights above you glowing / Oh and breathe them deep into your lungs It was always simple, not hidden hard / You’ve been pulling at the strings playing puppeteer for kings / And you’ve had enough But the search ends here / Where the night is totally clear / And your heart is fierce / So now you finally know that you control where you go / You can steer So hold this feeling like a newborn / Of freedom surging through your veins / You have opened up a new door / So bring on the wind, fire and rain It was always simple, not hidden hard / You’ve been played at a game called remembering your name / And you stuffed it up But the search ends here / Where the night is totally clear / And your heart is fierce / So now you finally know that you control where you go / You can steer ‘Cos you’ve been listening for answers / But the city screams and all your dreams go unheard But the search ends here / Where the night is totally clear / And your heart is fierce / So now you finally know that you control where you go / You can steer / Year get out of the box and step into the clear / ‘Cos now you finally know you can steer Missy Higgins

‘Garden of the Gods’ is a wondrous ‘garden’ just out of downtown Colorado Springs. Known as ‘high desert’ Colorado Springs is nestled at the foot of Pike’s Peak, one of the many 14,000 foot mountains in Colorado. What’s bizarre is the fact this landscape spends most of the winter blanketed by snow, yet when the snow melts, much of it is dry and desert like. Colorado Springs is at around 9000 feet, so the air is clear but thin. This particular rock formation is called ‘The Prayer’ for obvious reasons. It’s an amazing place.

I went on a Photo Safari today…as I call it when I specifically go out with my camera to see what I can see and create. / I took some wonderful pictures and was very happy with myself. / Then on the way home on a rural road, I was stopped by flashing red lights at a railway crossing. / Looking down the tracks as I waited there, I saw what was coming. / I thought to myself, “wouldn’t that make a wonderful picture!” / Then, remembered my camera was at my side, resting on the seat beside me, I grabbed it, rolled down my window and took a few shots. / Oh, was I excited!!!! / This is one of those shots where you see the sight and wish you had your camera…AND I DID! / I giggled all the way home! / Snow Plow makes top 5 in the challenge Red and White in the Canada…The Great White North group / Snow Plow also makes it on to the Home Page! What a treat. Thank you RedBubble.

Entitled, “Tracking The Bobwhite”. Artists collaboration between myself and Bunny Clarke. This work has been FEATURED in the “Wolves in Art” group! :) Here is Bunny’s original design that I added my design ideas to: Bunny Clarke’s design When I first started playing around with Bunny’s original design I had another idea in mind, then went in a totally different direction using fall colors. Bunny’s design reminded me of a bobwhite quail’s feathers, so I went from there…...

Scanned slide. It’s been a while since these slides have seen the light of day… so I’ve been having fun revisiting them! Also, reliving the trips I took to take them. Anyone who has been in the Australian outback would have to agree it’s an incredible experience and one that stays with you forever. I have been blessed to have been included on two trips with some dear photographer friends of mine. Both were quite some time ago now and I sometimes find that my memory of where things were exactly taken has become hazy… so you’ll have to forgive me when I say… “somewhere in the Strezlecki Desert” ! I did keep a log of all photographs taken at the time (when, where, etc…) but after several moves it seems to have disappeared… bugger! If you haven’t been outback yet… you should definitely put it on the “to do” list… I know it’s back on mine… : ))
