Spanish Dancers by RD Riccoboni. Joy, Pride, Sorrow, Love, Death, Flamenco’s universal themes transcend the boundaries of the many cultures of America. Here is a Mexican themed dance painted in bold reds, igniting passion and fun feeling in artistic movent. This scene is danced out at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, near the artist’s studio. Riccoboni is an insightful, American born artist (California, 1960) influenced by a plethora of sights, sounds, surprising colors, textures and emotion ranging from traditional to modern. This self-taught artist acquired his drive and inspiration from encouragement given him by family, friends and public school teachers. Riccoboni’s profound love for art and architecture and history are evidenced in his paintings and drawings. Riccoboni’s landscape and cityscape jump with vivid fields of color and powerful composition and his portrait artwork captures the essence of a person’s spirit, the love given from animals in surprising color. Beacon Artworks Gallery, shows the San Diego paintings by California artist RD Riccoboni. These art pieces tell the story of San Diego from Old Town to today, created in bold color. The birthplace of California – Old Town, San Diego is featured at the gallery, as well as the first mission and colonial building in the western United States, Mission San Diego De Alcala. Visit the Spanish Colonial fantasy of Balboa Park, the historic Gaslamp district, Little Italy, Point Loma, La Jolla and Coronado Island. The gallery takes you on a colorful tour through art of America’s finest city, San Diego, with paintings by one of America’s favorite artists, RD Riccoboni. Riccoboni appreciates both new and old San Diego, along with the California history that surrounds these settings. The artist went out in search of old homes to paint, and soon realized there was so much more beauty in the overall experience of his city and county and recreate in art a mix of everyday activity in neighborhood street scenes, all in bold color that tells the story of this special place. Beacon Artworks Gallery is located at 2754 Calhoun Street in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.

Taken May 2008 The 90-foot, red-and-white striped tower of the Harbour Town Lighthouse on Hilton Head Island is the visual centerpiece of the popular Sea Pines, located in Hilton Head South Carolina. Completed in 1970, this was the first privately financed lighthouse to be built since the early 1800s.
