  • have always wanted to capture a big plane landing but could never be there at the right time or having the wind blowing in the right direction. The low clouds helps bring the plane closer than usual….i could almost touch it….hahhah. To see a hugh metal flying over you at approx. 200kph is…...priceless. The jetfuel, the noise…...Perfect. I am NOT a plane enthusiast , but it is fascinating to watch. Sydney “Kingsford Smith” Airport Boeing 747 landing train plane truck car chair Transportation

  • Sydney, Long Reef is a protected marine reserve with rock shelves that extend out about 200m into the sea. We were lucky to have a beautiful cloud and still water reflecting of it. Shot with Cokin Z-Pro Tobacco Filter to give it a mood. The normal image tho looks good are just to wash out and unattractive, so i strap a filter on. Gum Boots is essential for early Sydney Sea Side shoot – unless you want wan mild frostbite at the end of the morning…eiei. Mind you i usually go shoe less in Summer…ahhaha…feel the water. 0.04 sec (1/25) | f/6.3 | 10 mm | ISO: 100 | Bias: 1 +EV | Shade WB / www.hangingpixels.com

  • A great challenge for me is to take my camera and my 35mm prime lens for a walk through the Sydney CBD and see if I can see everyday things a little differently. Everyday is different, everyday is a challenge and a great break up of the day for me. Photo Taken: 25-Jul-2007 / Time: 2pm / Conditions: Sunny winters day

  • I love shooting at night, and generally am out alone when I’m shooting – it’s when I produce my best work (in my mind anyway). / / This is one of my favorite places in the city. You can sit here alone for hours, traffic streaming past, only the occasional pedestrian, while hundreds, or even thousands of people are just a few feet below. It’s both a quiet spot to find refuge, and a place that symbolizes the loneliness and isolation that can be experienced in a city of millions. © Sara Lamond 2007. Yesterday morning residents in Sydney, Australia woke up to an unusual sight and for those who were armed with cameras, a unique opportunity for some amazing photographs. Images of red and orange dust filled skies have been flashing across news channels worldwide in the past 24 hours and some of our own photographers were lucky enough to have their cameras at the ready. To mark such an unusual event, we thought we’d feature a mini gallery of some of the images you captured: Sydney dust storm like Mars (BBC) Dust storm whips Sydney; flight chaos (China Daily) Dust Storm Shrouds Sydney (New York Times) Dust storm blankets Australian cities in red haze (CNN) If you captured any images of the dust storm, in Sydney or other locations that were affected, we’d love to see them. Please feel free to share your images in the comments below. Nat See here for instructions on how to post your images in the comments.
