Stonehenge It’s structures like this that make me realize how old this planet of ours is! When you think of how old stonehenge is and how long the planet earth was in existence before man appeared it makes you realize how brief the human existence has been and yet we have made such an impact on the planet so far! ~ / More of my Works /

I found this playa on a recent trip up to Sierra Nevada and i knew I would be back. This dry lakebed backs up against a cinder cone and in the far background the Sierras can be seen. It can be found near Fossil Falls in the Mojave Desert. I decided to do a B&W conversion of this photo due to popular request. Hope you enjoy it!

Situated 2 miles south of Redcar In the village of Kirkleatham / St Cuthbert’s Church Kirkleatham / This site has been hallow ground since the ninth century when the Monks with St Cutherbert’s remains rested in these parts. / The church, as we see it today, was probably constructed in 1731 and the Turner Mausoleum in 1739.The oak pews were originally tall boxes, but were cut down in 1875. / The Church has numerous connections with Sir William Turner of Kirkleatham. / Some of the stone walling was ballast out of the old sailing ships.

Amazingly, I have only just discovered the Orton technique…. So, where has it been all my life I wonder? A whole new world has opened up for me! This photograph is of a red door taken in a small cobbled street in a quaint village in Portugal on a summer’s day. There is so much that attracted me to this door, not only the colours and the aged wood and stone, but also the wonder of what the door has seen in its life.
