Late evening in the Southern Mallee. On a country road a rain cloud is unloading what it has collected during the warm day. Lightning flashes can been seen every now and then following the cloud and hitting the ground.

The road leading to my village across the moor. All our roads used to be red as the basis was Shale waste. For years the LA have put down normal black asphalt but the old red roads always show through in the end. We have the WORST roads in Britain …... really, officially …. our LA has been VOTED the WORST!!! The scenery is pretty though!

I wanted to identify all the elements of red in a streetscene – turns out there’s not many! An interesting effect though.

I have sharpened the car and the road, as I was in a moving car when I saw this and there is a lot of movement! Anyway Peter, this is just for you. To me cars are part of mankind’s fantasy and a status symbol. I only used the clarify tool in paintshop once! So, this is more or less as is.

A typical Red Gum lined road that you’ll find out around Ararat in Western Victoria, Australia. Shot in early spring I love the contrast between the red clays of the road and the lush greens of the grasses. This part of the world is so beautifu; after soaking winter rains. Enjoy :)
