Took this image one week ago during this hike up to Garibaldi Provincial park Lake which is located @ 1400 meters or so. From the valley, getting up here takes about 4 hours to cover the 9 km and the return trip takes about 7 hours and covers a distance of about 20 km. / Being that we haven’t seen much snow so far in the mountains, we hiked the first 3km and then had to put the snowshoes on. Lucky for us the sky was opening up when we go to the top, had a lovely bit to eat and headed back down. For more info about this Provincial park check out: / http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/garibaldi Part of this serie of images : / / Canon Xt, Sigma 17 to 35 mm lens / HDR Image : Combined 3 images

Well I’m back after working some 15 days in a row on an event. Now that I’m done, I’ll get to sleep and mostly try to catch up with you guys. Anyhow, this is another shot of the Grand Canyon taken this Spring during our road trip. Have a great evening. Shot taken on the South Rim (can’t remember the point) of the Grand Canyon National park

This was an awsome sight when we came upon it. I did not know at the time that it’s name is ‘Skull Rock’ but that is what I called it. It turned out that I was not the only one who noticed this eerie and awsome rock nestled among the other rocks and bushes peeking up above them, peering out at us as if from some other netherworld we had not been aware of until now. It’s vacant eyes have a haunting effect as you gaze deeply into them and marvel and this wonderful handwork of God. It reminds me that I am only capturing on film what God has created in His endless book of wonders. This natural sculpture stands out immediately from miles away. Should you decide to take a drive out to Joshua Tree National Park, you will definitely want to see this anomaly of nature. It began long ago when rain drops accumulated in tiny depressions and started to erode the granite. As more rock eroded, more water accumulated, leading to more erosion until, as time passed, two hollowed-out eye sockets formed and the rock began to resemble a skull. Skull Rock Located along the main east-west park road, Skull Rock is a favorite stop for park visitors. A parking spot is located just across the road from the rock. For those wishing to stretch their legs, a 1.7 mile nature trail begins either just across from the entrance to Jumbo Rocks Campground or inside the campground, across from the amphitheater. Joshua Tree National Park offers visitors endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. Depending on the number of hours you have to spend, your interests and energy, here are some ideas to consider: If you have four hours or less, begin your tour at a visitor center where park staff will be happy to help you plan your visit. With limited time you may want to confine your sightseeing to the main park roads. Many pullouts with wayside exhibits dot these roads. There are 12 self-guiding nature trails. Consider experiencing at least one of these walks during a short park visit. On clear days the vista from Keys View extends beyond Salton Sea to Mexico and is well worth the additional 20-minute drive. Joshua Tree National Park lies 140 miles east of Los Angeles, California, 175 miles northeast of San Diego, and 215 miles southwest of Las Vegas. You can approach it from Interstate 10 and Hwy 62 (Twentynine Palms Highway). The closest airport is in Palm Springs. Public transportation to the park is not available. / / There are three park entrance stations: / • The west entrance is located five miles south of the junction of Highway 62 and Park Boulevard at Joshua Tree Village. / • The north entrance is in Twentynine Palms, three miles south of the junction of Highway 62 and Utah Trail. / • The south entrance at Cottonwood Spring, which lies 25 miles east of Indio, can be approached from the east or west, also via Interstate 10. / Joshua Tree National Park HDR enhanced “Other National Park Images” Grand Canyon – Afternoon All I Survey Wotan’s Throne Grand Canyon Grand Canyon Mather Point Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. Being able to escape our little town and hike all these different trails is probably the best feeling and activity that we have here in the summer as long as you are a nature lover. Well this image was taken this summer as part of the Musical bumps trails which joins 3 summits at an average of 7500 feet. This circuit is 21 km long and ties in with The Singing Pass trail. / Taken with my handy Canon Xt, sigma 17-35mm lens / Part of this series /
