Recovery
by Madeline M. AllenChoose a God of your very own understanding, / one that is loving, forgiving and not demanding.
Today my recovery is the 1st. and most important thing in my life. If I do not have that , I will have nothing. So I try my best each day to do the three things that I have learned will keep me clean & sober for another twenty four hours and have a positive impact on my life, One Day At A Time ........ / 1. Trust God. / 2. Clear away the wreckage of my past / 3. Share my courage , strength and hope with others. All forms of spiritual disease comes from resentments ! My inner rumblings reflect my personal trials, / dreams, needs and obligations. / My Poetry reflects who I am ! / / / Poetry By: Madeline M. A Lot of Want
by Dawne OlsonI know an old cowboy. his blue eyes sparkle when he talks to me. “Where’ve you been girl?”
This story is my own testimony to the truth of what Ronald Reagan said, “There is nothing so good for the inside of a man (or woman) as the outside of a horse.”

Tap Into The Power
by Madeline M. AllenRemember that resentments are the “number one offender”, / it destroys more alcoholics than any other contender. /
If you suffer from an addiction, wither it be acohol ,drugs, sex or whatever your addiction is , that is not the problem ! The problem is , “The Consecious Seperation from the Spirit ”. The only thing that seperates Me from God or you from God is the EGO = ISM = I – SELF- ME . So if we “uncover” our past. We “discover” who and what we are. Then we “discard” the self = ISM. This process opens us up for the Spirit to flow through us and for us to tap into that power . We then trust infinite God rather than our finite selves. We are in this world to play the role He assigns.

Just In case You Forgot
by Charissa May BorroffJust In case you forgot or just didn’t see / What about that old spectre …
Before my Nanny (Gorgina) Borroff completely lost her ability to speak because of vascular dementia. She fought hard to get across her meaning. It has been heartbreaking trying to try to pick up on what she wanted to say with seemingly random words with desperation. somtimes it felt like if I looked hard enough her efforts felt profound. / strangely after a poetry workshop at her day centre everything she said from that point was then carried with a poetic rythm. similar to the rythm I fell into writing this. I hope I have passed on the meaning I found in her, all of my family and friends and the places I love. This is my first attempt at poetry so please bare with me. Just really had to get something off my chest. You may have noticed that it’s changed a little bit since it first went up but I think I’m done now. I dare you to google an Oil Beetle, it’s not for the faint hearted.
