  • SOUGHT THROUGH PRAYER & MEDITATION / OIL / $3000 US (ORIGINAL 24” X 36”) / SIGNED DEDICATED PRINTS AVAILABLE Some truths are like lights so bright that they blind. These lights overwhelm the mind and senses and leave one confounded. So it becomes necessary to have a different process when examining these truths. A flashlight can help us to see in the dark but is useless in the light of the noon day sun. So we must throw away our old way of thinking and find a new one. A new process that employs an intuition, a faith, as it were, a guide to realms where the light is so bright that the finite falters. An interpreter that can maneuver through previously untraveled territory. This interpreter is found in quiet solitude, prayer and meditation. It’s language is silence and silence is the language of God. It is in silence that we may hear the still, small voice that Is. (visionary imagist”Joey”)

  • Full view please :) This is a very exciting collaboration with earthairfire. Tim and I are both members of A Photographer’s Craft and were paired up for the group’s current challenge Roads. We wanted to approach this collaboration from the perspective of someone who is on the road to recovery… So what do you get when you team up two passionate, slightly opinionated artists who both know what they like and dislike? You end up with Cocoon: The Butterfly / The butterfly is ever more blessed than other creatures of flight. / Though all grace the heavens in the ecstasy of flight, / the butterfly has known the drudgery of the crawl / and the lonely confinement of the cocoon. / Her new found freedom is richer, / wilder and more thrilling than life itself. / This is the beauty of recovery… / Author Unknown ..::Stock Photo Credit::.. / Road / “Model” – locating stock / Field / Butterflies

  • Recovery Everyday now I work on my personal afflictions, / because they were the cause of my addictions. / I work at closing up the gaping hole inside, / as I know doing God’s will fills my heart with pride. For all of you that feel twisted, torn and shattered, / surrender to God, that’s all that really does matter. / See to it daily that your eyes stay on Him, / and you will be comfortable in your own skin. Work with rigorous honesty daily from the very start , / then chances are you will have a good heart. / Do a daily inventory of your troubles and pray, / and in God’s guiding light that’s where you will stay. If life’s issues become more that you can bare, / go to a meeting or call someone that does care. / Remember that we all had this very same start it seems, / that is why we are here, we lost sight of our dreams. Choose a God of your very own understanding, / one that is loving, forgiving and not demanding. / Put all of your reliance only upon Him for today, / and all of your troubles will seem to be less gray. Before you turn in at night , do an inventory of all your woes, / be ready and willing to apologize , that’s the way it goes. / Be grateful for all that you now have because of His glory, / for now you are healing and have a new story. Poetry By: Madeline M. Allen Today my recovery is the 1st. and most important thing in my life. If I do not have that , I will have nothing. So I try my best each day to do the three things that I have learned will keep me clean & sober for another twenty four hours and have a positive impact on my life, One Day At A Time * ........ / 1. Trust God. / 2. Clear away the wreckage of my past. / 3. Share my courage , strength and hope with others. • This is my first novel. you can buy a pre release copy on the website : www.ihatecinderella.com It is a joint effort with gorgeous illustrations by Jovan de Melo”:http://www.redbubble.com/people/jovandemelo ( who i met on Red Bubble)- here is the text from the back of the book. Please see the website www.ihatecinderella.com to reserve a copy. Due for release in December Forget the fairytale. Make your own! Who hasn’t had their heart broken? / Who hasn’t cried for days and been unable to eat, sleep or concentrate? / Who can honestly say they haven’t asked their best friend: “When will this pain stop? / When will I get over him?” This book is for those girls, for all of us. / Those girls who let some guy into their heads and hearts, putting aside their own plans and ambitions, to later feel there is nothing left inside their heart anyway. Lucy Summers is one of those girls. Three weeks after her heart has been broken, she travels for work, when the plane crashes halfway. She falls deep into the ocean where she is saved, as only a loving mother, a patient best friend and a healthy dose of chocolate could do, by a mermaid named Obelia. Together they reignite Lucy’s passion for drawing and re-establish her sense of her self-worth. / Lucy learns that you have to know what you want to be able to get it! This book will give you the tools to heal your heart, your head / and your sense of self. ‘A stunning debut novel that takes you far from here.’ ‘A wonderful book for a broken heart.’ ‘I hate Cinderella is inspiring, evocative and delightful.’

  • For Paul Stephen Dixon / the heART, creator and our cohost for MIA , or Musically Inspired Art… Thanks Paul, for being the HeART of Rock n’ Roll, classical, gospel, new age, easy listening, jazz, blues, country for us here at RedBubble!!! Always know that you are special, you are valued and you are loved by us all ;) This initially was a photograph of a shadow of my hand holding a heart shaped crystal, I began playing in photoshop7, then used Fractilius to finish it off to represent… / The heART (chakra) resonates to the colors green and pink and relates to the capacity to express ourselves emotionally, especially while participating in true relationships/partnerships in which both individuals are equally powerful and equally vulnerable. Love and relationship with balance, mutual respect, compassion and self acceptance; with the ‘lessons’ of “FORGIVENESS” based on compassion for oneself and others, as the key to healing the heART. As I am grateful for all the love that is in my life, I share this with all who need healing for their hearts…

  • In the 11th hour, on the 11th month and 11th day each year the US celebrates, honors and remembers it’s Veteran’s of War… / Last year in an attempt at balancing the power to creatively express my peaceful self, as a previous anti-war activist who had never truly delved into the depths of ‘casualties of war’, learning even more that they went beyond the physical or deceased sense of the term. Creating a series called PEACE CANDLES that began with the importance of our votes, I was soon inspired by the real reasoning behind some of our holidays. This series brought on an amazing series of collaborations, but the Veteran’s Remembrance (III) one had to be the most profound of these experiences, as it inspired this poetry and a whole new way of looking at ‘Warriors’... Singing for Heroes Unsung heroes of time and eternity gone by, / upon eagle’s wings please hear harmony’s cry; I know of the courage in your brave, purple heart’s, / the valor that runs deep through all body parts; No medals or ribbons could suffice true zeal / of facing the devil, declaring “NO DEAL!” Senses denatured to the ills of humankind, / focusing on ‘cause’ without losing one’s mind; War, we were taught, is freedoms price tag, / for waving or planting the colors of our flag; Laying claim to faith and dignity to rites / for victim nations, to empower from plights; A noble choice to risk one’s life and limb, / while ignorance decides whether to sink or swim; My promise to you from this moment on, / your memories heard in ephiphenomenon; With love and honor, respectfully I’ll close - / each dawn sound the bugle, each eve with a rose. TK Rosevear 11/11/07 Sound the Bugle by Bryan Adams / There were Roses written by Tommy Sands are the two pieces of music that inspired the last line of this poem, and each day I hear the first song, while each evening I hear the latter. In remembrance of all Veteran’s of all wars and to all those still walking with the memories and all who have been lost… Peace Candles III includes interviews with soldier’s requests on how they wish to be remembered… /

  • This is the beautiful foal I photgraphed with the owners permission. It was new born and not expected to live as it could not stand up. The mother was very protective and would not leave her babys side, there was hope all round that tomorrow would see the foal’s recovery… and it did. This was taken on my Kodak Z8612IS camera. It has been edited in photoshop to remove a heavy wire and post fence so that the foal could be enjoyed more. There were three strands which crossed over the foal, Thanks for visiting /

  • Our Beautiful Bella resting under the Christmas Tree with her favourite toys. Who would have thought that just over a week ago she was so ill we thought we might lose her. Our thanks to the skill of the Vet who operated to remove her tumor and to all the wonderful family and friends who wished her well. I’m certain that the power of positive thought has helped her overcome her illness. This is the best Christmas present anyone could have given us – every extra day we have with her is a bonus beyond words. I have written a journal entry with an update on Bella’s progress and to say a huge Thank You to everyone here on Redbubble who sent prayers and good wishes for her recovery! xxx

  • Yes, the ladybirds often seen on my site have made a recovery and were in their thousands last night in the forests at Mount Burr in South Australia. This group kept emerging from the darkness towards my flash as I tried to get some night time shots of them huddling together on a power pole. The bolt joining the frame and cement together made a point of focus for the shot and a small platform for them to climb on Canon 400D 18 -55 with a speedlight. Processed in Photoshop CS3.

  • Yesterday I reported the swarming of thousands of these beautiful creatures in the Mount Burr Forest in the South East of the State. This lot were clustered around the nut on a bolt holding the side plate onto a powerpole. Interestingly I went back today and nearly all of the tens of thousands had disappeared back to wherever they came from. What a magical twenty four hours this was. Thanks to Biggzie (see his site for some great images) I can now tell you that they are the: Common Spotted Ladybird / Harmonia conformis Canon 400D 18 – 55 lens with speedlight.

  • An image to match yesterdays post where another group of ladybirds were at the other end of this bolt. Two days ago I reported the swarming of thousands of these beautiful creatures in the Mount Burr Forest in the South East of the State. This lot were clustered around the nut on a bolt holding the side plate onto a powerpole. Interestingly I went back yesterday and nearly all of the tens of thousands had disappeared back to wherever they came from. What a magical twenty four hours this was. Thanks to Biggzie (see his site for some great images) I can now tell you that they are the: / Common Spotted Ladybird / Harmonia conformis Canon 400D 18 – 55 lens with speedlight. ””If we ever get this nut off – anyone got a spanner?”

  • Another trip out to the swarming of ladybirds that I have been reporting on at Mount Burr South Australia. This time we took them flowers!!!!!! The thousands I have posted on recently have dwindled to small groups of twenty to thirty and are slowly moving on. They climbed aboard our flowers which gave us opportunities to take some images a little different to those uploaded over the last few days. I promise the ladybirds shots will stop soon but they are just such brilliant works of nature that I can’t help keep going back whilst they are there. Canon 400D 18 – 55 lens with two stage extension tubes and speedlight.

  • Mixed media. / Patchwork relating to a larger work I’m doing about the Victorian bushfires of February 2009. / Each image is extracted and abstracted from photographs I found on the internet taken at the time of the fires. / Smoke damaged, as their lives and hearts and minds will be for some time to come, for most always remaining so.. be damaged by the nightmare of the fires / The patchwork is symbolic of the recovery, handstitched to represent the time and effort it will take for the victims and their communities to put the pieces of their shattered lives back together. The needle and thread still attatched to represent the ongoing process of recovery. The quilt to symbolise comfort.

  • I managed to spend a great weekend with Teresa Zieba and her husband Wojtek. Although we’ve had a considerable amount of contact, here on Red Bubble, this was the first time I met them in person. I have to say I enjoyed every minute of it – tremendously. I found out that, on their way home, they stopped off at a Provincial Park and she broke her ankle ! This is my version of one of the water lilies we photographed together. Here’s to a speedy recovery so we can have you back soon ! Group Feature / Polish Place – September 9, 2009
