This one is something new from me. Many of you know that I’m in a recovery stage of a complete collapse with a double-whammy of burn-out and depression. The only part of my life that remained constant was my family, which means my two young-adult children and my large birth family. Everything else needs to be rebuilt because the puzzle pieces are drifting around; none of them fit together yet: finances, home, definition of “home”, perception of self… and some of the pieces that are a normal part of a person’s life remain in the background because I’m not able to even think about them yet. So… I put this illustration together. Maybe some of you can relate to the metaphor. If not, lucky YOU! I don’t wish my situation upon anyone :) :) /

Islamorada, Florida USA On the way home from the hospital the other morning, I pulled off the side of the road to snap an image of this street because I have always loved the composition and trees along it. And… I knew I wouldnt be shooting for a few days so I took the opportunity, regardless of how I felt. If you’re a true photographer, being deathly ill will not stop you from snapping something your camera eye sees. You just have to, you cant pass it by. Its much like an addiction, one has a hard time saying NO! I know this isnt the best image I have ever taken and plan to get this one captured differently, as it was a cloudy day with a white sky. I want to shoot it in the ‘golden hours’ with clear blue skies to get that golden tone I so adore! However, this one is symbolic of how we all feel, being so sick. The gloomy white sky and wet street is symbolic of this experience. It means something to me. And, who knows what people want, it may very well appeal to another. Whereas, a bright and clear day with a blue sky and plenty of sunlight wouldn’t. We often ask ourselves and others, ‘What do people want’? So, this piece may very well sale as well as any of my others. It simply isnt exactly like I want it. Though it may be precisely what someone else is looking for! / _____ / UPDATE: The boys are doing much better but I am still waking with fevers and feelings pretty bad when I first wake. But, after I shower I feel well enough to sit up in bed and play, which is more than I could do… at one point, I literally couldnt hold my head up to even play online. We are all on R-22 antibiotics and a nanny has been brought in the help me for a few days, amen. My husband is great but he has to work and I cant yet take care of myself, certainly not the 3 boys too. I appreciate her, I appreciate being blessed with the help. Some of you may remember this image For Karin Taylor. I took this picture the day I read Karin Taylor’s journal about her son’s friend Mitchell who was very sick, and many Redbubblers prayed for him. Karin has shown me continuous kindness and support here on RB. She comments my work very often and I could never forget how she has responded so well to my previous journals months ago where I asked for advice: Seeking feedback. Would people buy these? / Origami Passion I prayed for Karin and Mitchell and brought out these cranes saying to myself “I wish Mitchell will be well” with each one I brought out. Upon posting the image more people joined in to pray for Karin and Mitchell, and Karin asked me to make it available for sale so that she could give it to Mitchell as a get well card. Karin has just received that card, however Mitchell has been long out of the hospital now; he has recovered miraculously fast, and it is thanks many prayers. I’d like to thank everyone who commented on “For Karin Taylor” and joined me and many other bubblers in wishing her and Mitchell well. / Ok so for those that have got to know me, you will recognise this I would imagine.For those that don’t know, this is my new open heart surgery scar, from pulmonary valve replacement on 18th April 2008.A little more healed, but still tender & achy. / I was born with congenical heart disease & contray to opinion, have not led a lifestyle which has resulted in this surgery, even though I am only 34 years old, young for this type of surgery…Some people have expressed an opinion that as I’m so young, it must be down to my lifestyle :( well it’s not…Growing up I learned to accept my original scar, it was enough t say I was born with heart problems & had to have surgery which resulted in the long chest scar & drainage hole scars near my belly button…Now it seems, people judge you far too quickly…I will need surgery again in apx 10 to 15 years time…My “Before scar” is also on my profile… /

by BevsimagesJust to say I’ve really tried to catch up on the happenings on RB this week, but to no avail….I’m apx 2 days behind, so as I’m away fro…
Just to say I’ve really tried to catch up on the happenings on RB this week, but to no avail….I’m apx 2 days behind, so as I’m away from tomorrow to Spain, for relaxation & recouperation I’ve stopped commenting & replying to comments now. Sorry if it’s you that missed out, but I do value your comments & do enjoy viewing new works, there has to be a cut off however ;( I’m sure with summer hols, other people will be in the same position, so I say in advance don’t worry I understand lol ;D I will be offline for a couple of weeks, so will start a fresh once I’m back in the UK… Hubby looking after our “Zoo” of pets at home as he’s working hard so can’t join me this time. So I’ll be taking things easy & walking alot, so I must remember to drink plenty of water (Doctor’s orders) Thank you again to all the people who have took the time to view, favourite & most of all comment on my recent & older work. I have been busy deleting some older images that have received lots of views, but only a couple of comments so please have a look & see if anything catches your eye. I will be repeating this process on a monthly basis to reduce the number of works, to make it easier for people visiting my profile. The cull will commence once I get back from Spain in a couple of weeks. / Let me know by Bubblemail if there’s a particular image you’d like me to keep ;D My garden in Cumbria, UK is now blooming so have recently added some more flower / macro shots to share. It’s been funny weather here sunny, bright then dull with showers; some days heavy rain & windy. It’s a great part of the UK to visit on a nice day, must gets some shots of Carlisle Castle when I return…As at today it is dry & sunny here so I better get a move on to enjoy what’s left of today! Spain is apparently very hot at present , so as I have to stay out of the sun with my new chest scar, I will be walking, reading & stopping often for soft drinks & tapas. Only trouble is I’ve recently developed an allergic reaction to white & black pepper, which is making eating out a nightmare. Let’s hope I can find something to eat in Spain besides salad & chips, that havent been marnated in something, with pepper in! Anyone else with this disorder, please BM me & let me know ;( Right signing off, going having a bath & finishing the last of the washing before sorting my post before my trip tomorrow. Won’t be taking any luggage this time so it will be a freeing experience; only taking my small cybershot camera, due to weight – so will see what I can find of interest when I’m walking around, as not driving yet either due to recent heart surgery & can’t carry much. On my 12th week now of recovery so also: Thanks to all who have wished me well & followed my progress x Adios, Bev x ;P

Crash victim: After about half an hour, this little chap was feeling quite a lot better – although still not ready to take off. By this time, its little feet were working again, holding on quite tightly to my finger. How amazing to be able to interact with a completely wild bird like this, and to be able to get my camera so close to it, without apparently upsetting it at all. Shortly after this, it flew off, but fell very quickly to the ground, so Denzil’s Healing Hands went back into action for another short time .

My deepest apologies to one and all for not responding to comments, or commenting, until today. For over a week I have been afflicted with the most intense allergies I have ever had. The effect has been flu-like, sneezing, ears plugged, itchy throat, eyes watering. It has been interesting suffering with this, and working full time. I am just about back, though. All that is left is the lingering sluggishness that accompanied the ‘illness’. I hope that all will be patient with me as I move through the replies I am so behind on :-)
