The last print, thus far, in the Prot +A series (a small series of prints that pays tribute to some of the technological innovations of the past that have helped shape society [and myself] but have now become outdated and fallen into disrepair). The centerpiece of the Essence print is a vintage Turntable. I never owned my own record player, being on the cusp of their demise, but I appreciate the technology and tend to prefer the ambiance of its sound. The Queen Anne’s Lace shows up throughout the series as a symbol of antiquity. I designed the overlying pattern especially for these prints, used primarily in the Essence print but also appearing in the Revolution (camera lens’) and Nostalgia (computer screen) prints. Check out my design blog designbysolo.com to view photographs of a printed version of this and other prints. Let me know if you find an image that is not offered in this store that you are interested in purchasing.

Thing I.N.C
by AngeP/S Retouched by Ange. Digital Photographs shot/styled by Alex Viscontini (2008). Model: Roberta. Collaborative work. P/S combined two shots (originals below which lacked edge on their own) to create one finished image. Model wasn’t appropriate for the shoot making it difficult for Alex to achieve what he had in mind. I retouched/airbrushed face/body, emphasised eyes, arched eyebrows, closed lips & enlarged them, minimised jawline, lengthened body/legs, re-worked hair/background elements, changed overall body perspective & added a magenta selective colour layer adjustment.

Now available for sale! / I designed this poster for free from a nice young man in Belgium, who organises gigs for no profit to showcase established and uncovered bands from Europe. I really love this design & I believe it was very successful – I received countless hits on my website and myspace from all over Belgium the week of this gig. And who doesn’t love a music poster? It might not be a true retro keepsake, but it sure looks it!

A few metaphors can be applied here. / There was definately a little humour surrounding the shoot as I was explaing to Rachelle the emotion that I wanted her eyes to portray (which she did perfectly!) eventually the album we decided to “chew” apart was Liberace’s “The Look of Love album!!” LOL! / The cover had Liberache himself giving the look of love (eeeep!), naturally we used that as inspiration! :D This and another 2 images will be on display at the BSG Picture This exhibition that began last Friday.
