Lake Dumbleyoung in Western Australia. Holding the land speed record, Donald Campbell then broke another speed record over the surface of this inland lake. He was the fastest man on land and water but the lake later took his life.
Another collaboration with my Mom. We did this for a rave flyer in 2004.

The last print, thus far, in the Prot +A series (a small series of prints that pays tribute to some of the technological innovations of the past that have helped shape society [and myself] but have now become outdated and fallen into disrepair). The centerpiece of the Essence print is a vintage Turntable. I never owned my own record player, being on the cusp of their demise, but I appreciate the technology and tend to prefer the ambiance of its sound. The Queen Anne’s Lace shows up throughout the series as a symbol of antiquity. I designed the overlying pattern especially for these prints, used primarily in the Essence print but also appearing in the Revolution (camera lens’) and Nostalgia (computer screen) prints. Check out my design blog designbysolo.com to view photographs of a printed version of this and other prints. Let me know if you find an image that is not offered in this store that you are interested in purchasing.

Okay! Well after a VERY hairy moment i got my image back! Not the same but its here…:( I love records! I love my dads records and everything about them! These ones were or are beyond use, they are old and mostly Motown singers, i LOVE Motown! Amazing! Awesome, awesome. I decided one day to hang them in a fejoa tree (that i also LOVE!) and this was the result, ive edited the color, it was shot in B&W and put a border around it…..call me nostalgic but i almost had a heart attack when i accidentally deleted it. The 70’s were a GREAT time and i love alot of things about that era, the fashion, hair and make up, music for sure! This is what these remind me of! The 70’s. Great times for my dad and them and a time well of unrest in other places. I think i did it justice, i hope you all like it!
The Akashic records is a theosophical concept referring to the archiving of all World events and personal experiences – of all the thoughts and deeds that have ever taken place on Earth. These events are transcribed in the form of complex images composed of pictures, sounds, and other sensory stimuli. These images are indelibly impressed upon the “matter” of the astral plane (called the Akasha) and may be “read” only when the reader is in a special altered (some even say mystical) state of consciousness. In such an altered state of mind, one is able to tap the Akashic records and receive direct information about past ages. Certain theosophical descriptions of Atlantis, for example, are supposedly received via this technique. Also, some psychics who do past-life readings claim to receive their information from the Akashic records. It is also said that it is possible to tap the Akashic records during dreams. Sometimes the information so obtained is remembered consciously upon awakening. More often, nocturnal perusals of the Akashic records are not remembered, although the fruits of such “dream research” may be retrieved in moments of intuition in daily life. The information received in precognitive dreams (clairvoyant dreams relating to an event or state not yet experienced) is often said to be ultimately derived from the Akashic records. I want to thank My Spirit Guides for the wonderful journeys they take me on and fill my life with creativity, love and inspiration. My life would not be the same without them.
