  • I have a bad back and I cannot walk far nor bend alot. Yet, while walking in the yard. I often speak to the Lord. I was slowly tiring and starting to ache a bit. I looked everywhere for something to photograph nothing was in sight. I said, Lord Show me a PLANE or something to make my trip out here worthwhile.( I suppose you think I`m full of it. Well, it is the Honest truth. ) Even God has a sense of humor. This appeared in the sky, just after I said that. No it isn`t perfect and it isn`t a real plane. However, I know in my heart of hearts … He heard me. No one will convince me otherwise.

  • The house at Rinsey Head is situated on an unspoiled stretch of coast near Porthleven in West Cornwall. Located on the tip of Rinsey Head, the house has spectacular views towards the Lizard to east and Lands End to the west. The grounds extend to about 11 hectares and are largely in their natural state, growing a mixture of wild flowers, heather, bracken and gorse

  • Give and recieve is a double artwork that shows a person in prayer with hands raised and water pouring down as a blessing. Original as a watercolour painting that is avaialble for sale.

It’s my hope that if you have some western Cowboy/Cowgirl punch in ya (no, not the bootlegged grain alcohol – sorry…), and if you do that you will come and join us at: Cowboy/Cowgirl Art so that we can start to put this handsome Cowguy on your pages!! YEEEEEEEEHAWWWWW! This photograph was shot during the reenactment of Old Town Sacramento’s Gold Rush Days, with a Canon XTI. There is nothing like a bit of James to add to this – ENJOY!! / James Taylor – Sweet Baby James / There is a young cowboy he lives on the range / His horse and his cattle are his only companions / He works in the saddle and he sleeps in the canyons / Waiting for summer, his pastures to change And as the moon rises he sits by his fire / Thinking about women and glasses of beer / And closing his eyes as the doggies retire / He sings out a song which is soft but its clear / As if maybe someone could hear (chorus) / Goodnight you moonlight ladies / Rockabye sweet baby james / Deep greens and blues are the colors I choose / Wont you let me go down in my dreams / And rockabye sweet baby james Now the first of december was covered with snow / And so was the turnpike from stockbridge to boston / Lord, the berkshires seemed dream-like on account of that frosting / With ten miles behind me and ten thousand more to go Theres a song that they sing when they take to the highway / A song that they sing when they take to the sea / A song that they sing of their home in the sky / Maybe you can believe it if it helps you to sleep / But singing works just fine for me

  • Duke McGinty, at your service. Pick a fresh tomato, but make sure it’s the right one now, ya hear or GRRR…RUFF! Duke is such an awesome character! He resides at McGuinty’s Nursery on Rt. 352 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. If you want to eat some small kernel, sweet, white corn, tomatoes that can be used for duck pin bowling, blueberries that you can play ping pong with, melons that drip all over you and peaches, which slither down your throat, and get beautifully grown, lush flowers, then this is the place to go! Unfortunately Duke is a tad camera shy. His Dad and I really had to really conjole him to get this pose. You can see that he is giving me the evil eyes…However, as soon as the camera is out of sight, Duke gets his attaboy attitude back and loves to play. If you get down on your hands and knees and bang your arms on the floor dawg style, Duke turns into quite an outgoing, playful guy, with little nose butts, grrrrrrrrs and matching bangs on the floor! His Dad, Mike McGuinty, better be careful, cuz Duke and I are getting real close!! WOOF!! Duke desperately wanted me to tell you that he has lots of brothers and sisters in the pound that need your help. Dogs that have been rescued pay you back in kind tenfold! This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D 75mm wide angle and has an added water color effect. It’s only fitting to add my favorite dawg song here! This song is dedicated to both Mike and my buddy DUKE! Nellie McKay – The Dog Song I’m just a walkin’ my dog / Singin’ my song / Strollin’ along / Yeah it’s just me and my dog / Catchin’ some sun / We can’t go wrong My life was lonely and blue / Yeah I was sad as a sailor / I was an angry ‘un too / Then there was you / Appeared, when I was entangled / With youth, and fear, and nerves / Jingle jangle / Vermouth and beer / Were gettin’ me mangled up But then I looked in your eyes / And I was no more a failure / You looked so wacky and wise / And I said, lord I’m happy / ‘cause I’m just a walkin’ my dog / Singin’ my song / Strollin’ along / It’s just me and my dog / Catchin’ some sun / We can’t go wrong / ‘cause I don’t care ‘bout your hatin’ and your doubt / And I don’t care what the politicians spout / If you wanna companion / Well just go right to the pound / And find yourself a hound / And make that doggie proud / ‘cause that’s what it’s all about My life was tragic and sad / Yeah I was the archetypal loser / I was a pageant gone bad / Then there was you on time / And wagging your tail / In the cutest mime / And you was in jail / I said woof, be mine / And you gave a wail / And then I was no longer alone / And I was no more a boozer / We’ll make the happiest home / And I said lord I’m happy / ‘cause I’m just a walkin’ my dog / Singin’ my song / Strollin’ along / It’s just me and my dog / Catchin’ some sun / We can’t go wrong / ‘cause I don’t care ‘bout your hatin’ and your doubt / And I don’t care what the politicians spout / If you need a companion / Well just go right to the pound / And find yourself a hound / And make that doggie proud / ‘cause that’s what it’s all about / That’s what it’s all about / That’s what it’s all abow-wow-wow-wout / That’s what it’s all about

  • Resounding Truth
    by Kristin Reynolds

A poem about writers, writing their given truth.

  • While sitting in the dirt on the edge of a stream bank, digging and searching for Lenni Lenape arrowheads, spear tips, axes, and scrapers, I saw a woman walking her two dogs down the street. I always gravitate towards dogs, especially Labs and Retriever’s. I immediately got up and started talking with Charlie and Angel’s Mom, Amy. Charlie, four years old, is part Golden Retriever, plus who knows what else, as well as a dog rescued from certain death in a pound. Angel, his new Sister is eleven years old and a purebred Golden Retriever. Sadly Angel has a brain tumor. I felt like crying, since I have had so many Retriever’s pass at ten and a half years and younger. Angel is a fitting name for this gorgeous Golden who instantly befriended me. Charlie was a little leery, as most rescue dogs can be. After all, he was mistreated and abandoned with 3 other siblings only to wind up in the pound. Angel shows no sign of a brain tumor and was just a beautiful joy to behold, love and photograph. Charlie, a bit camera shy, was also a love, well…after I put the camera down, which scared him. Amy told me that Charlie takes care of Angel and watches her every single move. This is not unusual at all for dogs who bond together. When my Yellow Lab, Graham, was on his last legs, Honey our other Lab, backed off from playing with him and stayed close and lovingly by his side. She was about 3 years old at the time. Some people don’t realize how these awesome animals communicate silently together. They take care of one another and have intuitiveness when it comes to illnesses. I believe that those who are rescued are especially sensitive, due to their abusive backgrounds. Here they are together, with Angel loving Charlie. Charlie takes in every bit of it too! Their Mom, Amy, works for a local rescue team in the Philadelphia area. Many dogs that she rescues have never set foot on the ground, due to puppy mills. This saddens me beyond no belief… I pray that Angel will live comfortably, as she is now, for as long as possible. My heart goes out to her and I would have never known her condition if Amy hadn’t told me about it. Having had Retriever’s for most of my life, I held back tears as I held on to both Angel and Charlie, as it is so hard to have our babies leave us at such young ages…I felt very compelled to put this picture up, not only for Amy and Angel, but especially for Charlie who is doing quite a job taking care of his big sister, thanks to Amy for her awesome volunteer work as a rescuer!! Charlie has found great love and is now giving it back like there is no tomorrow! I hope to be able to help Bill Smith’s organization, (who started the rescue operation), given time. It’s my hope that those of you who read this will not buy a dog without first looking at the SPCA and local pounds. Right now, they are suffering due to lack of state funds and more and more dogs are being left behind, due to the state of the economy. SPCA’s, Shelters and pounds are all getting more animals than ever and euthanasia is surely on the rise…In addtion, backyard breeders are popping up all over the place, since it is easy to make under the table money. This worsens the situation further. If you do decide to adopt a dog, if you can’t find a dog at a SPCA, pound or shelter, which meets your needs, then a great site to check out is Petfinders.com Petfinders.com has thousands and thousand of beautiful dogs, available for adoption and who are only looking for the love that they truly deserve. A video about Puppy Mills. Please note – this is very hard to watch and does contain graphic pictures, however, the truth needs to be shared…

  • The Secret of Soft Lips
    by Kristin Reynolds

I have been told, “…you have the softest lips / I have ever kissed…” by every man I’ve ever kissed. So I have to wonder why thi…

just me wondering what constitutes the softness of one’s lips. What makes another’s lips not as soft? It’s more than the texture, i think, but an essence perhaps. After the recurring line from different men about the softness of my lips; my kiss, it got me to pondering the question…why?

  • Beau, First Captain of a boat he was. He gruffly barked orders as I took the tiller of his favorite vessel, our old wooden Bateau, a traditional crabbing boat. Together, we’d motor off into the distance in our almost daily adventures on the Chesapeake Bay on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The rougher the water was, the more we rejoiced. Beau was so big, that if you looked at us going out into the bay from behind, it looked as if there were two people in the boat! Surfing the waves upon our imminent return gave us great joy. Beau, a one-hundred-ten pound Golden Retriever, was my best seafaring buddy and the only Captain that would gladly let me steer! He would await my arrival every day in our old, eighteen foot wooden bateau. Patience was his forte as he would sit or lay in the boat, always ready for immediate departure upon my return from work. On one occasion, my Step-Mother, El and I had made a very grave mistake. We left the shore without Beau. About ten minutes later, we thought we saw something bobbing in the water. Upon looking back, we realized that our Captain was overboard and swimming, so we turned around for a rescue mission. Now, hauling in a wet, 110-pound dog is no easy feat. I’m not sure how we did it, but Captain Gratitude was now soaking wet and all aboard – motor on! Beau had a certain fondness for fish. Dead fish are a pure, dog scent straight from heaven. One afternoon, Beau came home reeking of the most disgusting stink I had ever smelled. El and I set to work immediately. Poor Captain Beau was now at our command. Shampoo, perfume, powders and anything we could find now engulfed his newly scented aura. Later I found the source of the stink. Long dead on the beach laid a putrid Carp, which was rotten and at least three to four feet long. I did my very best to wish it well and immediately sent it back out to sea with a stick …Yuck! Beau was also fond of women’s underwear, namely mine. Innocently and nonchalantly he would mouth it up off the floor and promptly deposit it on the beach. Whenever I was missing underwear, I had a pretty darned good idea of where it might be! Beau could spot and hear my little VW Bug rumbling homeward bound at least a quarter of a mile away. He would run out to greet me, followed by a good jog to the left of my car. How many human friends do any of us have, who would do that on a regular basis? I can’t think of any. Perhaps you are luckier than me! During those days, I probably weighed about 118 pounds. I would sit Indian style and Beau took great joy sitting in my lap. Despite the fact that he weighed almost as much as me and that I couldn’t see in front of me worth a squat, he never once squished me. The last time I saw Beau, he tenderly sat in my lap. However, this time was different, because we both knew he was dying. Beau Geste means beautiful gesture. He lived up to his name and I was grateful to live in Gratitude, Maryland, as well as to have great gratitude for those special times I had with my loving Beau (pun intended). A rather good-looking Beau, wouldn’t you say? Here he was with something in his mouth, but thankfully not MY underwear! This photograph was shot in Rock Hall, Maryland in 1976. We had restored an old canning factory, which was nestled into the Marina and hence, named it “The Strawberry Factory.” Many a good times were had there, whether we were crabbing, motoring, sailing or swimming!! Ah, days of nostalgia…Beau will always be deep within my heart and soul!!!

  • After being away from my little Cocker Spaniel, Stevey, for 3 months, when we finally reunited, we both literally howled!! I couldn’t let go of him and he was all over me as well! It’s funny how animals can sense things. Due to the fact that I am getting ready to move to Pennsylvania from California, I’ve got this house pretty ripped up. It now looks like half of a house and half of a warehouse! Since I have been working on the computer a lot in the living room, Stevey has decided to sleep right outside the sliding glass doors on his favorite setee. The other night it was a tad cold, so I took my down vest and put his head through the arm opening. It was so danged cute. Honest Injun, it is a perfect sleeping bag for him! I was laughing my head off, because he was just so danged cute! I’m not subjective or anything (sic)!!! I think he is gearing himself up to do some serious camping with his ol’ Ma!! I’ll be glad when we are finally sleeping under the stars on our adventure back east. Somehow, though, I have a feeling that Stevey will be crawling into my sleeping bag with me!! Big smiles here!! :))))) This photograph was shot in Roseville, California with a Canon 40D and a 75mm wide angle.

  • When you lose someone close you realise then that time is precious, time can’t be paused, rewound when we feel like it, it is now, right this moment, time waits for no one. Having lost both parents within 2 years of each other I often regret time, not the fact I had it, but the fact it was wasted. Regardless of how a person is or who that person is, time is here momentarily, do you know what time it is for you and your loved ones? Maybe this image will help you reflect, perhaps it will help you understand, is there a message here for you?
