    US$3.99–US$43.32

Watercolour / Original Sold, Oct 08. / Full sheet Arches 300gsm (stretched with nail gun) Based on a photo of people viewing the construction taking place in Ground Zero. The viewing platform, inside the American Express Building, was originally a marble wall but was replaced with glass when the building was repaired after 9/11 so that people could come and view the area. The people were respectfully quiet as they look on as the site was being rebuilt.

  • I wanted to do an image that symbolizes the Victorian bushfires that started on Saturday the 7th of February 2009, but I didn’t want this image to be sad (although we all know how devastating it has been), I wanted this image to be about the loss, the lives saved, how Australians came together and the growth to come. The Bird symbolizes all the lives that were saved, but this bird has no nest, so it also symbolizes all the homes that were lost and the nothingness some of these people now feel. The Birds claw clinging onto the tree branch is there to symbolize the fire fighters thoughts of hanging in there, and putting all these fires out. The Heart is there to symbolize all the heart ache and love, which us Australians have felt and will never forget. The Flower is there to symbolize all the help, support, donations and everything that us Australians have given to those affected, just to let them know that they have got support, and us Aussies are all here to help. The Music symbols are there to symbolize (all the lives lost) all the spirits flying up into the sky. The Leafs symbolize the growth to come, with rebuilding these affected communities. And I did not want an actual image of a fire in my design, so the swirls of the bird’s tail are there to symbolize the raging fire that affected so many. Any Money made from these images and designs I will be donating to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

Sometimes a soft wind blows / and scatters the very fragments of you life all over the page.. / and sometimes, if you are very lucky, someone comes to you / and helps you to put the picture back together again. It may be a different picture, / but who’s to say its not equally beautiful.. and occassionally even more so!

  • Old Montreal Rebuild

A lot of money is being put into the rebuilding and restoration of the infrastructure in Old Montreal. When it is done, lovely streetscapes like this can be found. • Rebuilding New Orleans
    by CynLynn

    US$3.99–US$91.20

This was taken about a year ago from the window of the rolling tripod. We just drove thru New Orleans and could see abandon buildings, houses, roads. It was pretty clear people left and never came back. It was really sad. Then you see a bunch of rebuilding and cleaning up, even this long after the big hurricane. I am sure this area will always show scares of what happend here.

  • Waiting For A Rebuild
    by ej29

    US$3.99–US$91.20

A few weeks ago I was giong up to the Blue Ridge Parkway by using one of the back country roads. You never know what you will see on these roads, they can be fun to drive and very interesting. About half way up I saw this rusted out truck in front of this little log cabin. I stopped to take some shots of the scene. I wanted to get closer but was scared to, even though you could tell no one was living there.Just as I decided to get closer and went to step on the property, with my back to the road a truck came down the road and as he got right at me his tail gate fell down and his big metal trash can fell in the road right behind me. The noise was so loud I thought a shot gun had gone off. I just about passed out with a heart attack. My heart was beating so fast I could hardly breath. He knew he scared me pretty bad so he came over to make sure I was OK. We laughed about it, but he did tell the truck had been there for a long time. You could tell it had because of the moss growing on it and the tires half buried in the leaves, so he lift and I took a few more pictures but I didn’t go onto the property. Thank you for looking.

  • Signal
    by Felicia Moore

    US$4.66

A tiny bird has built her nest atop a Federal Signal Corporation tsunami siren in Kauai, Hawaii and stands surveying what lies beneath her. This gentle, little soul unknowingly took a symbol of something associated with fear, loss, destruction and devastation and showed that it is possible to weather the storm and rebuild.
