Theme and variation
Charcoal drawing and photo
Here we have a picture of the Moon as she watches a Tornado. Even though the Tornado is one of distruction, the Goddess Moon watches and is pleased with the rebirth that this act of nature provides to the Earth Mother. As always there is good in all with Mother Nature, even though we sometimes do not see that at first.
Created almost entirely from Industrial Trash!!! / Raw colorants hand layered on framed canvas. / Acylic seal with ModPodge cure. / Wood frame backing for easy hanging.
The Death card is often seen as the big baddie in the tarot deck hence the reason i added the word change to this card, far from following the tradition of the skellerton holding a White Rose banner (refuring to the death or Richard the 3rd at Bosworth Field) / Death is a time to start again be reborn see things in a different way, wipe away the past mistakes and take a new path. There is no reason to be one of the lost souls that are ofen shown in the water or lieing on the battlefield, As is the norm with most historical decks, this could be your chance to shine. And take on those new chalanges, start a new job, move home or have a baby . the choice is there for the taking and the choice is your own
my bud / your bloom / your heart / my tune… / entwined / in time / our hearts flower / and sing the song of rebirth… again and again and again…xxx
It may look as if the theme is the same as in Global Warming but it’s not. This painting predates the other one about 10 years. A dark time had come to pass and friendship, love and compassion had brought me back to life and colour. To understand the title better you’ll have to view this one large. watercolour on paper, original about 24×33cm. detail at 100% / more work / the card /
There is a delicate balance between death and life, one which if tilted just the smallest degree in a different direction will have an impact on what we call tomorrow. May we always be aware of the scales, and the intricate moments of forever. Watercolour on Succes paper, 200 g/m² / Original size: +/- 30/21cm Never mind how dark and scary it looks, it’s a painting with a very positive message: rebirth. Death is only the beginning. I wasn’t consciously painting another one of my tarot card interpretations, but I guess I’ll have to admit this one was heavily influenced by the Death tarot card.
Fashioned in Ultra Fractal and finished in Photoshop.
This self-portrait work was started with graphite, pen and ink, and a soft white pastel. I also used a brown chalk to scumble in the background and I then used a large brush to blend the areas with water. After this preliminary drawing work, I selectively sprayed the piece with a sepia, gold, and black spray paint, to seal the drawing and create a varied tonal quality. I printed my hand in white gesso, then added the heart and expanding veins (which were drawn in with black ink, and painted with layers of red ink for a varied saturation). Finally the heartbeat line was overlaid with a blue tinted gesso. The original dimensions are 18in. X 12in. It was produced in 2008.
Fan based artwork inspired from Yukito Kishiro’s novel. Everything about this came out good in my view.

Great as an Easter card, available in my clothing and cards portfolio . The framed format would look great in a nursery or a child’s room. Even grown-ups could find it inspiring in the right setting. There are a lot of symbols in here aside from the obvious. Eggs represent the Creation, the four elements and life itself. It is a powerful symbol of birth and rebirth. The butterfly is a symbol of transformation, love and joy. In some cultures, it is also associated with feminineness, beauty and fragility. More often, we see it representing freedom. This is a composite made of 2 of my flower photos, one abstract of christmas lights manipulated to change the hues to more pastel tones and to give it a twirl , plus one of a butterfly, altered to look like an illustration and used twice here in two different hues. So there are 4 photos in all in the composite and the egg has been created digitally. The more I was looking at About Life, Birt and Rebirth, the more I thought that it lacked a little something, some punch, character or purpose. So I made another go at it. This time, I used three more textures that I created, plus a mushroom photo that I shot last fall during a photowalk in the mountain in St-Bruno, Quebec. I made a layer of sparkles and starbursts, duplicated and added a slight glow with motion blur to the bottom layer, then lowered opacity. Featured in Mountains Across the Globe group Dec 2009 (Continued from The Grandfather) This is another view of the south face of Grandfather Mountain from Beacon Heights in western NC. His is a long reclining range of rock promontories; center frame is a view of the western most crests. The famous Linn Cove Viaduct is just east of here on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Viewed from the other side, the range is a profile of a grandfather lying face up and searching the sky. I get a sense that at any moment, he’ll sit up, charge is pipe, take a practiced draw beneath a lighted match, and then the story will come. I can almost smell the aroma of pipe smoke wafting about his brow as wisps of clouds. I’ve heard before the story he’s telling now; it’s called ‘The Man Who Planted Trees,’ but he’s telling a version more tailored to Appalachia. It’s got the smell of spruce and hemlock about it and the feel of sugar maples turning red in autumn breeze. His story goes something like this: “My grandfather never had much to say to me; he was as distant as those stone peaks there on the horizon. My father was cast from a similar die; as a kid I spent a lot of effort toward attracting their notice. Sometimes when it came, it left a lasting impression on me even after the color underneath my skin had faded away. But that’s all water under the bridge over Wilson Creek. “There’s just something about the mountains that keeps calling me back,” the grandfather explains. “I found them as a child; it was like my life started over, like in the John Denver song, ‘Rocky Mountain High,’ where he sings, ‘He was born in the summer of his twenty-seventh year, coming home to a place he’d never been before; he left yesterday behind him; you might say he was born again; you might say he found the key to every door.’ Some’ll tell you that JD was singing about himself and his own rebirth in the Rockies; well, I reckon he’s singing for every mother son of us that’s ever drawn that first breathe o’ mountain air and come to know then and there what it means to really be alive (Continued with The Grandfather 3). / ____ / ©Miles A Moody LivingEarth-Hearthealing.com.
