In times of darkness / where shadows grip the light / and the heaviness of burden overides / love reaches through with its golden hand / and warms the way within your chest / A familiar comfort emerges / Where from is unknown / An inner song rejoices / Reflecting on the murky past / Opening your eyes to possibilities / Showing you the truth of lessons learned / Holding onto hope / Reassurance that all is well / Knowing that without darkness / The light becomes insignificant / The journey has not ended / It has only begun / New lessons to embrace / Armour from the past / Entwines your body / Each lesson squeezing tighter / Yet knowledge liberates / Clouds part within the mind / Creating equilibrium and tranquillity / For those who surround you / Without judgement / Know who you truly are / Contained within a portion of their soul / For all eternity / Knowing always that someone truly loves you.

hello everyone. / well, i have been busy of late, so my first words will be those of apology. i have not been able to spend as much time amongst your beautiful art as i would like. i am writing my last year of school, and exams are around every corner. being at a boarding school doesn’t help. but know this: i am thinking of every one of you, of the words you write and the beauty you create, of all the amazing people i’ve met along my creative journey. this, is just the beginning. Next year I will be able to dedicate more time to myself, my art, and this place. secondly, I would like to reassure you. many have asked me if all is well in my life. my writing has, lately, been of a rather cynical bent. i am merely expressing a part of myself, ideas and thoughts both entirely new to me and as old as my existence. in particular, i have written about youth, and beauty, and the loss of both. but do not worry, friends. i am not in the darkness of which i write. all is well. this is also a time of excitement for me. i will be having a series of my photographs exhibited in a local art gallery, my first exhibition. as soon as i have enough works printed, i can have them put up. you can imagine my delight. today, i collected one of the prints i had ordered: Portrait of a Nation on canvas. it looks better than i ever dared hope. i am hopeful, for the future. more than hopeful. my joy is incandescent. i know that i can and will achieve. this is but the first stepping stone. thank you, each and every one of you.
