  His Majesty

  I honestly thought I’d lost this one in my studio among all my old drawings. Apparently not! Approximately 6 years ago or more a friend of my parents requested I paint them a proud looking lion’s portrait for their bedroom, the strange part was their request for me to paint it with a little bit of gold and bronze paint mixed in with the usual paints to emphasize the royal beast, king of the jungle. So i drew the faces of a few lion pictures i found. I think this one was the one i paused a documentary DVD and drew. They loved it. Sadly I don’t have a photo of the painting but I’m sure i could get back in touch. fingers crossed

  Making tracks

  The second half of my dyptych, ‘Making tracks’. This lays in front of the other painting and that’s a ceramic ball I painted and shlacked sitting at the end of the trail. / The ball represents a language. its made up of markings that communicate that language by leaving them like a trail as it evolves. sometimes crossing over the trails of another language and picking up some of those elements. Like French words used in the English language or vise versa. / The Inscriptions Series: / - / The whole dyptich:

  Over 2,000 hand cut pieces of painted terry cloth to make this canvas which measures 30” x 40” and I got so into laying it out I forgot to pull out the glue. So it will most likely look different the next time you see it.
