Not many of Rarotonga’s Tiki’s, such as these have survived into the 20th and 21st Centuries. Housed behind glass and in dark corners with in the recesses of a museum collections do they now stand! My Collage displays it within a context of colour and movement not an object of web and dust collecting.

I snapped this photo on our last day in Rarotonga. This is a view from the beachfront at the Rarotongian Beach Resort and Spa. The resort was a wonderful place to stay, everyone if very friendly. The have a small lagoon encircled by coral reef just behind the resort that’s excellent for snorkelling. Te Rua Manga, otherwise known as ” The Needle” is 413 metres above sea level, can be accessed on the cross Island walk, takes about 3 hours but can be done in about 2 hours, a great walk, if you ever get the chance.

Muri Beach, with the Muri Beach Club Hotel on beach front, the Island is the Wedding Island where lots of people get married in Rarotonga

Another beautiful sunset in the Cook Islands, this one in Rarotonga (I think) or was it sunrise??? Anyway I thought the sky was pretty nice.

This photo was taken the morning my father was airlifted home to Melbourne – safe. / It brings back the relief of the new morning. / A lovely place to visit but a terrifying place for those in need of a hospital!
