The Kronenburger Tower in the Dutch city of Nijmegen. Built as part of the medieval city wall. This is a rare example of an intact wall tower in the Netherlands. most others were lowered to the height of the wall and filled in with earth in order to accomodate cannons and withstand the ompact of canonballs. When the old fortifications were demolished in the 19th century, This tower and a piece of wall containing two more lowered towers were incorporated in a nice english style landscape park.

Looks better on dark colours i think :) The original was a pastel drawing that was edited in Photoshop, using the magic wand tool on a low setting and deleting the darkest areas. The original can be seen here

Rapunzel in the forest at night. Each digital painting is derived from a photograph that I have taken myself. The photographs are my palette to create each computer generated painting. I like the viewer to take from each painting what they want..what they see..how it makes them feel. So I prefer to not disclose exact descriptions of each piece. Of course some are more simple and the title tells all. But do not let the title of my works distract you, as in many of my paintings, you may find more than what the title states.

Title genesis: Eye imagined this 19th Century lighthouse on the shores of Southern Connecticut as being the summer retreat for the beleaguered & redoubtable Rapunzel; a place to give her some respite from her imprisonment in her familiar fortress abode featured in my work here: http://www.redbubble.com/people/alvinsan9/art/1339024-1-rapunzel —alas, when Eye called out to her, her Copper/Golden Dreads were not up to the task, as they became entangled in the rapacious vines that guard her person from all intruders except the most Intrepid, like ME. Cutting a deal with the Head~Vine (knew he’d be susceptible to a bribe), a pathway was cleared for Rap’s Fragrant Tresses, making our meeting a thing of ease. Neither of us slept till Dawn …
