  • Rock formation along the Tasman peninsula – South Coast of Tasmania

  • One of the three magnificent capes that project out from the Tasman Peninsula into the Southern Ocean.

  • Taken with a Hasselblad, Tri-X film. / Raoul is an art director friend. Together, we experimented on creating something more than an ordinary type of portrait.

  • I had my brother Sean in town for his annual visit to Tassie (he lives in Hawaii these days and is a surfing photographer), anyway we did the usual saturday night thing and got a bit tired and emotional and to bed about 3 am. / At 6.30am Sean gets a phone call to tell him that Shipsterns bluff is “going off” and that he should be there, many calls later and by 9am we were boarding an ex- police heavy duty “dukky” at Cremorne. / We made it to Cape Raoul and Shippies by around 10.30 and proceeded to be manouvered by our captain to the best shooting posi of the day, and for the next 3 hours sat, photographed, bobbed like a marker bouy and eventually vomited, but hey it was worth it, what an outing. / For the record I’m pretty sure the surfer is Dustin Hollick from Tassie and is well known down here. Tech: manual camera, manual focus, film too, I’m quite chuffed really because all these other photogs on their huge charter launches and sqillion dollar camera systems would’nt have been able to get the immediecy we had in the “dukky” PS: If you like surfing visit my Bro at: “www.seandavey.com”

  • ©Aimee Stewart, Foxfires – please see my CC Terms of Use before considering using this image for any personal or commercial use http://foxfires.deviantart.com/journal/15905899/ / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- “Too long you’ve wandered in winter, far from my fathering gaze… ” – The Phantom The full series: / (More coming soon!)

  • Hunter Thompson should really require no introduction. Quite simply put, he was THE man. But, if you don’t already know him, I guess now you do. The day the news of his apparent suicide broke was the first time a ‘celebrity’ death ever hit me like a sack of bricks. The only other one to’ve effected me in a similar way was that of Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. (Who, I imagine, will be another subject of mine, soon enough.) This man was and is one of my go-to guys, one of my all-time heroes in life. Another one-hour portrait. Oils on 8” x 10” canvas panel.

  • Haha, hello everyone. Here is my take on the great Raoul Duke from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I think the late great Hunter S. would be proud.

  • Scanned before i had the background of the original done. Negative image using photoshop. BAT COUNTRY!!!!!!

  • A drawing I did of Phantom and Christine from the 2004 Movie of Phantom of the Opera

  • Towering dolorite cliffs at Cape Raoul, Tasman Peninsula, Tasmania. (A person is standing at the top of the cliff — upper right: this gives some idea of the scale. There are also seals on the rocks bottom left, but these are difficult to discern. Their strange cries filled the air.) Nikon D70

  • Charcoal & Chalk. Original SOLD.
