I have been working on this one, and three others for the kids’ rooms…thought I would see what everybody thought This is the first one….for my youngest son Jacob…it’s always raining love when he is around…He has a hug and kiss for everybody he meets :)

This is a shot of the Rio Grande valley floor in Albuquerque, New Mexico, taken from a vantage point in an open space recreational area in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. Included in this shot are three of the five cinder cone volcanoes that dot the West Mesa. In the background is Mt. Taylor). in the lore of New Mexico’s Navajo people, Mt. Plant: Erect (usually), 50-150 cm tall Leaves: Lance- shaped to oblong, mostly 10-20 cm long, smooth or wavy edged. Flowers:Yellow, 2.5-5cm across with a long tube (containing the ovary) below for petals, 4 sepals, 8 stamens and a short(less than 2cm) style tipped with a cross-shaped stigma; flowers in stiff, leafy-bracted spikes. Blooms: July to September. Fruits: Erect, persistent, oblong capsules, 1.5-4cm long. Habitat: disturbed ground. Distribution: Native across southern Canada and most of the U.S. Pick: A few. Location of this flower is Norwood Ontario Canada, near the wood’s edge.
