I went out on a trike ride this afternoon. Only 20% chance of rain, except we got 100% of the 20% that was expected. I kept saying to my self, hmmm, water makes the colors more saturated. What colors??? So here is the only one of the batch that I can post. We are half way between summer and fall. Rain is in the forecast, and I can forget about getting out to take pictures of the moon anytime soon

Taken in a light summer shower this vibrant rose still impresses. I wish I could do those lovely pictures with whole world in a droplet of water (but don’t know how …!) so this will just have to do for now… cheers ;)) Taken in the same shower as remember the time so it was well worth getting slightly damp.. :)))

THE STORM / Author: Nancy Fischer This night with its heavy rain causing a stir, / I sit perched in my bay window; / watching rain fall on the sidewalk / the puddles grow and the curbside slowly disappears, / I wonder where he is / what he has seen since last he looked at me, / I count on my fingers all the years that have passed The winds blow through the trees / and the light on the porch / with its constant glare shines over the pouring rain / the most beautiful sounds can be heard in a storm I can hear them all now / each gift from the sky / the rain and the wind and the trees rustling / all of it, he who taught me to listen / to see; / to be the one who when / he looked into my eyes / I felt love being dropped / into them like coins / being dropped into a well this stormy night with its wildness / and wind so fierce / familiarity / as something similar sweeps through me / something so unruly and primitive / that it renders the world amiss / and a warm shade of blue / all in the same feeling my eyes now forced to close, / as he fills me / the swelling of my soul / like a shooting star / that appears out of nowhere / and flies through the sky / leaving its marked beauty / entrenched in my mind and on my soul lit candles slowly dim / the rain begins to lighten / and in this silence / in this calmness of the rainstorm / as I watch the blossom trees / ferociously sheds their tears / I know I will never see him again / or that if I did, / we would have evolved beyond reconciliation haunting / consumed / pure madness / life with its frayed edges, / and its gifts of love / two sides of / the same coin and / now / the moonlight as it drops through the trees / forms puddles / and pools in the doorway / of my heart.

Pouring rain forced us off the beach at Direction Island and into the shelter of the forest. Our senses were buzzing with the sound of rain and waves, the rich saturated colours and the scent of summer rain. / Direction Island is a much-loved anchorage for yachties, cocos locals and visitors, but no one lives there permanently. We shared it with about 10 people on this particular day.

This was the reason I got excited and switched lens’s while the digital was on.. So I decided to take the memory card out and see what came out. I am happy with the color and light.. after a rain..
