This is a cross section of our neighborhood after the arrival of hurricane ike. Much damage-lots of broken trees and structures, but no severe loss of life. We are thankful. Our community binded together and we are all helping each other recover.

This HDR photo was taken at a local mall theater. This was my very first HDR image. A tripod was used. The image is a combination of three images at -1, 0, +1 exposure settings. I use Photomatix for post processing.

Last time I was in NY, weather was mainly not nice. As my first pictures where rather grey and flat, I tried to find an idea to be creative. Last christmas my family was on a midnight shopping spree to avoid crowds. Around 4 I was exhausted so I went to sit in the car. It was raining and this water drop was on the windshield in the upper section of the tinted glass. A street light is back lighting it
