  • An alpine lake reflecting first light kissing the peak of Mt. Rainier on a cold summer morning as the mist rises off the lake.

  • Mt. Rainier reveals its majesty as it peeks from behind low clouds and reflects in the still waters of Bench LAke

  • A magnificent sky erupting over Mt. Rainier and the still waters of a small alpine tarn of the crest trail.

  • A pastel sunset over Mt. Rainier with a lenticular cap on top and the fog rising out of the valley below. All reflected in a small alpine lake near the crest of the Cascade Mountains

  • One of the more beautiful sunsets I have witnessed over Mt. Rainier and all reflected in the still waters of Upper LAke Tipsoo

  • First light on Mt. Rainier as the wildflowers dot an alpine meadow in the foreground.

  • A major early snow storm blanketed the Cascade Mountains. A small lake nearly froze over by winter cold offers a bit of a reflection as Mt. Rainier looms in the background capped by a lenticular cloud cap. A pristine view one can linger on if you can stand the cold.

  • Another image from my 11 day backpacking trip around Mt. Rainier on the Wonderland trail. This picture is of Mt. Rainier reflected onto part of the Reflection Lakes (aptly named :) ). /

  • Fall color explodes in the meadows around Mt. Rainier. A great day this was hiking with my 12 year old daughter.

  • A magical evening of the most amazing color in a sky I have ever seen. All this and views with MT. Rainier as a backdrop and an Alpine lake reflecting some of the amazing color.

  • A lenticular cloud caps Mt. Rainier on an Autumn day as the fireweed bloom nears the top signalling an end to summer. All reflected in the waters of Reflection LAke

  • A frustrating summer of not getting out much due to work and family committments. After a 3 days sales meeting I was determined to get to the mountains and finally made it for a sunset hike last night. I had to wait for the wind to die to capture this meadow full of Avalanche Lillies with Mt. Rainier in the background.

  • Autumn leaves float on the still waters of Bench Lake as Mt. Rainier emerges from some morning clouds

  • A storm gathering over Mt. Rainier from near the skyline trail with a meadow of lupine.

  • Mt. Rainier glowing under the light of a new day as the lupine and aster line an alpine lake.

  • To catch the sun rising over the mountain requires a 3AM wakeup call 2 hour drive and a short 1 mile hike to waters edge. In my book worth it! Dawn illuminates the cloud-capped peak of Mt. Rainier as it reflects in the the still waters of Bench Lake

  • Mt. Rainier reflected in the still waters of Lake Tipsoo just after dawn

  • Mt. Rainier beneath stormy Skies with a myriad of wildflowers dotting a meadow.

  • The majestic Mt. Rainier capped with a small cloud as the first light of a new day illuminates the peak and reflects in the still waters of Bench LAke

  • Storm clouds seem to spew from top of majestic M. Rainier, almost as if this active volcano was erupting. Lupine and buttercup dot the alpine meadow in the foreground.

  • First Light reaching the snow covered peak of Mt. Rainier with a meadow of Lupine and Aster unfolding below

  • A fabulous and HOT! day at Mt. Rainier National Park today, August 19, 2009, showed the exposed rock and receding glaciers. At over 14,400 ft. high, snowfall could begin soon for the winter. A climber who had just hiked down from the summit said the remaining snow was only six to eight inches deep, other than on the glaciers themselves. We normally only see this mountain as a majestic white giant gracing the Puget Sound horizon, so it’s a surprise to see so much of the black rock showing out from under its remaining snow cover. The forests along the way are incredible, worth seeing just for themselves. Below are the paintings and photos on my new 2010 Redbubble Calendar: /

  • Western Anenome and paintbrush backlit by the sun setting behind Mt. Rainier. Taken with a Canon 5dMKII and 17-40L Mt. Rainier National PArk, Washington, USA

  • The sun’s last rays illuminate the lupines as well as the majestic peak of Mount Rainier Camera/Lens: Canon 5D MarkII, TS-E 24/3.5L
