  • Gig Harbor, Washington with view of Mt. Rainer.

  • Took this back in 2004 while visiting two of my children living in Washington state. I lived in Washington for fourteen years but wasn’t into photography then wish I was Washington is a photographers paradise. This image was taken with my first digital camera a Sony DSC V1. Shortly after I was hook forever on photography as a hobby.

  • The morning: bitter, bitter cold. The wind: blowing so hard I could barley keep my feet. I had awoke that morning to the blazing sun burning red the clouds in all direction with such intensity that it was hard to forget that it was not I who was burning…. There are some mornings, some places and some times, that it becomes impossible to believe that we know anything about the earth, it becomes impossible to think that this place is something that we can understand or comprehend, that it is not wild and bound by no laws but is own iron will shaping and flushing out the endless twists and twirls of infinite possibility. This was one of those mornings. I have never been so close to believing that there are a thousand strange, mystical and unmapped realms waiting just beyond the touch of my fingers, to thinking I had accidentally slipped into one and would any moment start to come across the gods the ancient inhabitance of this land thought the volcanoes to be or begin to hear the whisper of the spirits who live in the pines. I was lost, lost, too everything I thought I knew, too who I myself had been, too the world that I had always lived in and had thought to be my home. I wish to all the gods I could become lost again.

  • Here is another of Carol’s characters for her book (Tales Upon an Ocean Shore – book 2 in her Woodland Warriors series). This young fire dragon (Ignatius), is quite a handful – always trying to help, but never really doing it well!!! Here he has to set fire to the volcano….... can he do it in time to save his friends trapped by the evil Mer-Queen????

  • This is my interpretation of the famous SCREAM painting….. / featuring my husband Rainer – click here for his portfolio Sometimes he feels overwhelmed with artistic ‘smart-arses’ and ‘arm-chair art-critics’ – / I have created this for him so that he can show his frustrations to the art-world, but I promise HE WILL GET BETTER!!! (Monty Python)...

  • This is one of my illustrations for my up-coming book “Journey of the Ghorks”. / Here we have Nanny Schmirgel (a kindly old mountain goat-like creature), greeting young Schmim, the baby of the four Ghorks. / Little Schmim is telling his Nanny off for not allowing him to have his morning tea – “like she promised!!!! The original artwork is for sale – it is a diptych (that is, it is a painting consisting of TWO canvases). Acrylic on stretched canvas. / / Check my Web-Site for more images and pricing details. /

  • Another one of my montages….. Here I have taken the liberty of using Van Gogh’s starry background and added a mini-me and a mini-Rainer (my hubbie)!!! The mini-me is a favourite of mine – I would only have been about 4 years old, and was so into ballet….. only trouble was, I was always falling over (hence the many band-aids on my legs!!!) / The mini-Rainer was when he would have been about 18 months old. / He has very tightly in his hand his vegemite sandwich!!! I am no longer into ballet – I got over it!!! / But Rainer is still loving his sandwiches!!!! Please enjoy!!!!

  • The “Hinden-Clucks” of Pumbleflat are a wonderous fleet of living Airships, designed to carry difficult or sensitive cargo. / Short distances only, as they deflate rapidly. / To re-fuel and to create another lift-off, a Hinden-Cluck has to drink an enormous amount of very cold water on a hot day! (All images and names used here are copyrighted to the artist – Rainer H. Kozik. No copying or reproduction will be permitted without my written permission).

  • BLACK CAT A ghost, though invisible, still is like a place / your sight can knock on, echoing; but here / within this thick black pelt, your strongest gaze / will be absorbed and utterly disappear: just as a raving madman, when nothing else / can ease him, charges into his dark night / howling, pounds on the padded wall, and feels / the rage being taken in and pacified. She seems to hide all looks that have ever fallen / into her, so that, like an audience, / she can look them over, menacing and sullen, / and curl to sleep with them. But all at once as if awakened, she turns her face to yours; / and with a shock, you see yourself, tiny, / inside the golden amber of her eyeballs / suspended, like a prehistoric fly. Rainer Maria Rilke Shot at the Blaye Citadel in France while the sun was setting. This resident cat was desperate for attention so while I was trying to get some sunset shots, he decided to sit in front of me! Typical cat behaviour – always has to be the centre of attention! The French town of Blaye is located on the right bank of the Gironde estuary and has a citadel built by Vauban on the cliffs beside the river and includes ancient ruins of an old Gothic château. The latter contains the tomb of Charibert II, king of Aquitaine, and son of Clotaire II. Blaye is also defended by the Fort Paté on an island in the river and the Fort Médoc on its left bank, both of the 17th century. The citadelle of Blaye, its city walls, the Fort Paté and the Fort Médoc (the latter in nearby Cussac-Fort-Médoc) were listed in 2008 as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as part of the “Fortifications of Vauban” group.

  • Here is my latest addition of idiots…....... To watch the Australian birdlife, even for a few minutes a day, can be quite disturbing – or even mind altering! / In order to teach the young how to fly, the parental unit simply kicks them off the end of a branch, or lets them hang upside-down on a twig – knowing that the poor buggers eventually have to drop! / ...... Suppose that’s ‘tough love’ in the Bird world….. / Imagine your 40 year old son, still sleeping in his top-bunk, smoking Cuban Cigars!!.......... The original artwork is for sale – click here – please contact me for more info. Size: 910×910 mm / Acrylic on Canvas
