The life story of a Welsh Poppy! / Background and textures include (1) raindrops on window pane, (2) car sun/roof light window and (3) swiss roll baking tray. / I am not very good with verse/poems so please be kind! Dreaming dreams / Winds blow… / We bend shimmering with grace. / Buzzing bees / Shimmy through stamens… / brushing anthers showering pollen. / Yellow / Petals fall silently softly gently / littering the ground… / New beauty emerges / A summer crown… / Soon black seeds fall like rain / We dream the future. Some of the poppies before I cut them out – this time I only used the magicwand and eraser.

This baby ground squirrel was one of hundreds that were stalking tourists at the zoo, looking for food. These squirrels are native to that area and are not zoo animals. This is a golden mantled ground squirrel. A thunderstorm passed over and rained for a bit. RaindropsKeepFallingOnMyHead /

Pastel on Colourfix paper (burgundy) – 70cm x 50cm We are having a few scattered showers here at the moment, which reminded me I had this painting hidden somewhere in my archives! A study of eucalyptus leaves which I painted in 2005 as part of a solo exhibition (My Easel and Eye) which was held at a local winery. The opening was a BLAST!
