Our little red eyed tree frog, Trickster. EDIT: Thank you all – this is not my favorite one but wanted to see how the idea would be received. So, I appreciate all your wonderful comments! This is our pet frog, Trickster. I bought cloud paper at the scrapbook store and purchased an umbrella ornament on eBay. I then hung it from our banana stand (LOL-I know, I know :-) Then I put the frog on it and snapped the shutter. Because the umbrella was hanging truly vertical he didn’t like it and it didn’t look right so in photoshop I rotated the canvas 35 degrees and cloned out the string that would hang the umbrella on the tree. That is about it. Unfortunately, I had to shoot at a higher ISO so I got some noise. Going to re-do this tomorrow with more light – it was pretty cold here and these guys like warm weather so I couldn’t play too much today.

If you would like to purchase a laminated print, please let me know and I will post a version without the text. :) Mother Nature has the most amazing palette with which to create, doesn’t she? The flowers are, from left to right: turk’s cap, Mexican sunflower, golden allamanda, elephant’s ear, agapanthus, and passionflower. All photos were taken in gardens in and around Gainesville, Florida. 100% of the profits from the sale of my work will be donated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

I have been wanting to do a follow-up to Colors of Nature, but I wasn’t sure how I wanted to present it. Since I have already done flora, I wanted to do something with fauna, and something unique… Then it struck me how amazingly colorful snakes can be, and how that is something most wouldn’t think to notice. So, I present to you these beautiful snakes, all of whom are wild and were captured, photographed, and released in and around north and central Florida. The colors here are completely natural; I’ve not altered them at all. The snakes are: corn snake (aka red rat snake, Elaphe guttata guttata), yellow rat snake (Elaphe obsoleta quadrivittata), rough green snake (Opheodrys aestivus aestivus), and bluestripe garter snake (same one as in Feeling Blue Thamnophis sirtalis similus). Jokulsarlon is a glacial lake that meets the sea in Iceland. One of the most beautiful places i have been on our little planet Earth. The tragedy is that this beautiful photo would not be possible without global warming. When in a cafe at a petrol station i saw a postcard of Jokulsarlon. One single large iceberg floating in the centre. As you can see now the lake is full. Note: The size if this work was increased using Photoshop CS2. / Best size being around the 50cm wide.
