Unfortunately most plants in this stunning garden are untagged. I have no official name for this striking daisy. Taken in Lilian Fraser Garden, Pennant Hills (Sydney) Australia. Lilian Fraser (the third qualified female biologist in Australia) was born in 1908 at Kurrajong, NSW. The family moved to Pennant Hills after her father Charles purchased the ‘Hopetoun’ poultry farm in Bellamy Street sometime between 1915 and 1920. Over the years, much of the original farm was sold off as residential lots but almost an acre was kept for gardens surrounding the house. The present garden covers 3,426 square metres. Lilian Fraser lived on the property for most of her life. During a career spanning 33 years, Dr Fraser made many significant contributions to world knowledge of citrus diseases. She travelled extensively in Australia and overseas, spending her holidays exploring bushland for new plant and disease specimens. / / Following the death of her mother, Dr Fraser became more involved in the gardens surrounding the house, growing a wide range of plants. As trees and shrubs matured, the garden evolved into the woodland garden it is today. Among the wide range of plants are some very special for their size or rarity. As she approached old age with no immediate family, Dr Fraser offered her garden to Hornsby Shire Council. Her final wish was for her garden be enjoyed as a public garden and park. She died in 1987, aged 79. Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM

Stroller was shot on the footbridge in Beecroft over the M2 Motorway in Sydney, Australia. Apart from the selective colouring (the yellow is original) and some cropping, the image is basically as is.

Foggy, rainy, near dark, in my car at a stoplight. What can one do? Turn the lemon into lemonade – a clever way of saying that I embelished (heavily) the reality. / / / / . / Please view also my other work.. / : / Thank you for visiting.

Rain drops on an Iris. A touch of yellow amid the rich blue.

Guess my head is in the clouds these days. Probably from being in the mountains during the past weekend. Taken Wednesday May 21st as an impending storm circulated the Lake of Two Mountains, Deux-Montagnes, Qyuebec, Canada! Although it subsequently rained here intermittenly, the storm never made it to our shore and this cloud formation was shot on the other side of the bay!

I was going to add this one to my after the rain calendar…but didn’t so I thought I will try it on for size on RB!

Rain drops on a window, forming a beaded-curtain effect with golden out-of-focus orbs from the patio outside. I had my camera with me while in a cafe with my daughter and my sister, and I spotted the raindrops … then those golden orbs appeared in the viewfinder too. A lucky bonus! / . / I’m delighted that this photo has been featured on RedBubble’s front page - / . / / .

“What do I want to take home from my summer vacation? Time. The wonderful luxury of being at rest. The days when you shut down the mental machinery that keeps life on track and let life simply wander. The days when you stop planning, analyzing, thinking and just are. Summer is my period of grace.” / - Ellen Goodman The Untapped Source Store – deviantART Gallery – deviantART Shop / “To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.”
