  • This is what was remaining this evening around 5:30, and after a day of horrific wind, and thunderstorms moving through Northern California. We had a severe wind warning; big rigs were pulling over on the I5 and the wind was almost impossible to drive in, gusting in every direction. The rain came down in torrants, and window wipers didn’t seem to help much and then just as quickly as it moved in, it was gone…the sun was shining through the clouds and the sun was beginning to set…..this is what was left, just Beautiful and Wild! ___ All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. • I was traveling each day between Albury and my son’s farm at Wymah, while attending APSCON, and noticed this little chapel erected in memory of the pioneers. Anyway I could not resist the temptation for a couple of shots when the rain clouds followed me up the highway. The purple is my favourite flower…..... NOT! We call it “Salvation Jane”, most call it correctly – Paterson’s Curse. The chapel is just short of a place called Bowna, NSW, Australia

  • When I left Home It Didn’t Look Like Rain I headed for Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair hoping for a good sunset. • Captured in rural Boulder County, Colorado….let me just say this was honest to God unbelievable to photograph. I had to handhold these shots because of my bum knee and well, the lightning was going crazy right above me. But I managed to get some dang nice shots off. This being one of them. I am really happy with this one, I debated about a square crop, but in the end I figured why the heck not, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right folks? Minolta 50mm f1.7 Lens / ND4 and CPL / Lightroom & PS I hope ya all like it! / —-John

  • It’s been an epic journey to get this on to redbubble! I mean how hard can it be to take a photo… well… first there’s suitable light, then there’s the question of getting the colours to look like the actual painting….. So… it’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close now… but… then there’s actually uploading it! I’ve been trying all afternoon… so if it works this time I’m having a celebratory glass of wine… lol!!! Anyway, this is a painting taken from a photo taken around the same time as “two little girls… tuross lakes”. When we camped there that Easter there was a lot of rain and storms… pretty much every afternoon. So this is just another one of them… For those who are interested… Tuross Lakes is situated on the South Coast of NSW. Just realised that I haven’t put in the technical info… so here it is for those interested… Oil on canvas / 61cm x 91cm Plus I’d like to thank you for viewing as the thumbnail doesn’t really show it very well… : )) Featured in the Landscape Painting group
