Six photographers, one very cooperative Nursery owner – but really inclement weather!!! Warren, Gail, Will, Malcolm, George and I ventured out regardless of the bucketing rain and still managed to bag some reasonable shots. This one is taken at Swanes Nursery, Galston – on the northern outskirts of Sydney / Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM

This began as a photo of an actual “Secret Garden” my husband and I found on one of our “Date Days”, there were wood sculptures of insects and many levels of an array of beautiful flowers. This dragonfly sculpture stood watch above the garden and I played with many flower photos and a few fairies to greate the magic that unleashes within my mind’s eye…and voila ;) “In my garden there is a large place for sentiment, my garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful.” Abram L. Urban / /
Go figure! The weather has cooled down, perennial plants are going dormant, but my roses are throwing new branches and leaves!

What a wonderful place to get my head back on straight. This is Rose Valley Lake in north central Pennsylvania, taken at the peak of fall’s natural color display. This photo was taken just before sunset with a Canon EOS 10D with a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L telephoto zoom lens @ 200mm. The shutter speed was 1/20th sec at f/13. The camera’s ISO was set to 200. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release. Your comments are always welcome! Constructive criticism is appreciated. © 2009 Gene Walls All copyright and reproduction rights are retained by the artist. I picked out these roses for my father to give my mother for Valentine’s Day. They’re such a deep red color and the petals are velvety…almost black. I love those type of roses. I used a really low white balance when I shot this to give it a more bluish tone. Enjoy!
These are the same roses from Valentine’s Day with the velvetly petals. I adjusted the white balance on my camera before shooting to give it a bluish tone. It looks like crushed eyeshadow to me…:D Shot with a sigma 105mm macro, indoors with flash. Enjoy!
I was supposed to be cleaning up my external hard drive but I kept coming up with forgotten images which were ‘too good’ to trash! So here’s one from my Canon G7 dollied up to make a simple but true statement. SOLD a card of this image to Tainia Finlay 28 Mar 09 / Featured in For the Love of Jesus Group 8 Nov 09 (Perhaps this statement is reflected in John 3:16) My Bubblesite also shows works in categories. A Rose bud ;) I messed with it a bit, didn’t know what I was doing, don’t know what I did even!! This is the end product – good, bad or indifferent? I like it ;) Of course I blame fellow bubbler Trish Woodford She has been doing great things with a selection of her photo’s using photoshop and encouraged me to give it a go! Another close-up of a rose off the fifty year old rose bush from my garden. I upped the contrast on this one a tad! ;-) Kwinana Western Australia Olympus E-410 Featured in the group – Flowers In Macro – 07/10/09
