This was captured after a rain storm, while we were on holidays at Lorne. The sky lit up as though it was on fire, with the clouds reflecting the late afternoon sun and the resulting water lying on the pier also mirrored the sky and the couta boat, docked there.

Background Information: / Bryce Canyon National Park is a national park located in southwestern Utah in the United States. Contained within the park is Bryce Canyon. Despite its name, this is not actually a canyon, but rather a giant natural amphitheater created by erosion along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive due to its geological structures, called hoodoos, formed from wind, water, and ice erosion of the river and lakebed sedimentary rocks. The red, orange and white colors of the rocks provide spectacular views to visitors. MAY 2009 / Here comes the rain. Its been gorgeous and sunny here for the last few weeks. Today is gloomy and wet, so off I went into the garden to play with the dianthus and daisies. I’m 8 months into the recovery of my broken hip and I can get down on the lawn quite comfortably now and roll around in the raindrops…thank goodness. lol / Taken with a Canon EOS 400D and 100mm macro lens. I’m having my 150mm macro lens back on saturday…its fixed and its cost me just over £100.00….ouch…I must remember not to drop it again.

I just love the muted but colorful tones on this shot taken through a wet bus window. Hope you like it too. This reminded me of a Renoir painting, The Umbrellas Thank you to The Human Condition and the I Love Italy groups for featuring this work!

Captured in rural Boulder County, Colorado….let me just say this was honest to God unbelievable to photograph. I had to handhold these shots because of my bum knee and well, the lightning was going crazy right above me. But I managed to get some dang nice shots off. This being one of them. I am really happy with this one, I debated about a square crop, but in the end I figured why the heck not, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right folks?
