For it’s length, Benniworth has surprisingly few alcoves… If I was an engineer with a steam train bearing down on me I wouldn’t fancy my chances of running on all that track balast! Whereas the previous shots have been ambient light only this one had 3 light sources – Magoo2’s blue LED torch for the alcove, my big bad ‘Nightsearcher’ for the main tunnel, and ambient light coming in from the distance… Again the star effect is a natural result of an f8 aperture over time.

trial photos in black and white. hope they look ok. these are taken at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder railway museum. as an affection for railways, i had a great day taking these. i love this photo as it reminds me of old photos from the South Devon Railways in southern england.

This is sleaford bass maltings, an abandoned brewery. In my head this is how i see it in the moonlight.

Redfern Station at dusk… It is a fairly distinctive station… Although most stations become distinctive when you regularly use the train networks.. this station has a facinating building, badly maintained, which is perched above the rail line itself. The tracks curve around, and the wires stretch out, cross hatching the sky. You also get some wonderful sunsets from this station, just dont be waiting for a train when it’s raining… also at my dA gallery http://obsidiantears83.deviantart.com

The layers under the pictur are photos of rust on other rusting trains. The place was full of old steam trains, many past their best, but with an air of hope as they are renovating so many and getting them to run again.
