The road to California is supposed to be paved with Gold. But these days the road to California is paved with poppies and lots of them. Even the railroad tracks are paved with poppies. This has been an amazing Spring for wild flowers here in the Northern part of California. Taken near Wheatland in Northern California with a Canon Rebel XSi with a / 55-250mm lens.
Pseudo HDR image of the bridges over the Umpqua River at Winchester, OR. There are 3 bridges in this image. The cement bridge with the beautiful arches in the foreground is the Old Highway 99 Bridge. Just beyond that is the green steel Interstate 5 bridge. The third, a railroad bridge, can be seen in the distance through the nearest arch.

Done in ultra contrast HDR. The camera was set on the rail, and not much attention was paid to the alignment of the trees and the rail until I put it on my computer and viewed it full size. The trees line up perfectly and reflect quite nicely on the smooth shiny steel of the rail.
