  • “I find ornamental grass of immense beauty. These simple, sturdy plants bear the grace, flexibility and softness hard to find in more elaborate sorts. Growing wild in the pampas, they are a common view in the vast wilderness of the Argentinean plains and meseta. / / I grew up surrounded by them and still today they make me stop to contemplate their beauty. The thin and tall stems, crowned by filigree plumes, are a pretty artwork of Nature. This crown became iridescent in a blue glow at dusk.” / / / / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. I never lure my animated subjects to come close to me: spontaneity is the key. / / This is an original uncropped image. / / /

  • “In a balmy summer afternoon, the sun rays made their way through the petals of my fiery red lilies. Set afire in the golden light, a beautiful iridescence appeared on the surface of the petals. Bathed in golden glitter, the velvety surface gleamed like a jewel before my eyes. / / Of intense beauty and delicacy, the petals offered a marvelous spectacle only once in this unique afternoon, for the flower cycle started its decline the day after.” / / / / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. • “Every morning my pretty Hibiscus greets me offering a new regal flower unfurling. Almost every day the flower is of a sheer fuchsia colour. Once in a while, a flower blooms in a delicate shade of yellow. / / Taking a closer look at this flower, I noticed a visitor quietly sitting in it and embracing it wholy. The long and thin legs touched the petals delicately and remained motionless when I approached. The morning sun rays revealed a Daddy-long-legs comfortably stationed. / / The breeze made the flower quiver. The light played through the yellow petals; it was warm an inviting. The cosy spot made this delicate visitor remain long, adding its beauty to the morning greeting” / / / / / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. • cup of coffee in the sun shine on the airplane

  • Took a look out my back door one foggy night, and spied the potential for a great shot. Grabbed the digital camera, set it to b&w, fiddled with some knobs, cranked up the exposure time and took a few shots to see what would happen… / The lights in the background flare to extraterrestrial prominence; / Beams of light cut through the fog like knives of contrast.; / Shadows of river plants and trees cast dark angular fingers in the fog; / While solemn crosses stand silently with their cloaks of grape-vines draped over their wooden arms.

  • “Nay, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” Romans 8:37 This painting was inspired by the moving devotions penned and published by Oswald Chambers in the early 1900’s. His powerful book, My Utmost for His Highest, continues to touch my life and draw me closer to Jesus. I hope that this art and verse do the same for you! Read the devotional from My Utmost For His Highest that inspired this work. Undaunted Radiance, VerseVisions® Art; Romans 8:37. Mark Lawrence, 2008. Digital mixed media on canvas, 60×40 inches. • Sunrise Rainfall Ke’anae Peninsula Maui Hawai’i Copyright © Sharon Mau 2007 – 2010 / Ourjrny / The Heart Within the Art / All Rights Reserved The beautiful remote village of Ke’anae is on the tip of the peninsula below. This is true Hawai’i where our Ohana and friends, Kanaka Maoli, the familes who live here, are descendents of many generations of farmers and practice ancient and cultural practices in sustainable land, fresh water, crops and taro farming and conservation. We have many Ohana and friends who live in this area. If you visit Ke’anae, please drive slowly as there are many children, do not enter private drives, and please be respectful for, the moment you drive off the road to Hana and turn down onto the Keana’e Peninsula, remember you are on private land. “Your touch was gentle. / I hardly noticed you enter within the circle of my life. / But yet, / you took hold of my heart, and led me along an ancient path. / Back to the places of the Ancestors and the Old Gods. You spun an unseen magic that found its way into my life. / As I lay with that circle of stones, ancient and worn, and looked up into the starry sky, / I could never have imagined that I would see the world through your eyes or touch your magical realm, a vision of the sparkling walls of your celestial home, held within your divine radiance, my Goddess of the Fates. And yet, / was I not always your child waiting to be born? / Your voice murmuring in the night. / The sigh of the wind on the moor, / and within the places of the dreaming, / carried by the sound of the Shaman’s drum. The many things you have shown me, in waking and in sleep, snatches of an ancient melody, / steps of a timeless dance. The weaver of the web, of which I am but one small strand…. / your essence flows within my veins, / your song hidden within my dreams, / waiting to be revealed.” ~ poetry by Vanora Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi / This is a composite of two of my images, one taken of the sky at sunset on Po’olenalena Beach over Kaho’olawe Island and the second of rainfall on Ke’anae Peninsula at sunrise.

  • Gaze toward heavens

  • Vector translation and manipulation of pen and ink, 2009. Alternate title: Radiant Bird A quick splash of shapes on a table, with a little tweaking and duplicating. It’s of humble origins, but it stands out to me.

  • Another of my older Apophysis pieces. I have a series of about seven variations of this thing. If anyone’s interested, I’ll post more of these. :)

  • A T-shirt of my Radiance fractal design. :) I had originally rendered the image out of Apophysis as a .jpg, for some reason, so this is going to be more like a picture on top of a shirt, but it should capture more of the details against various fabrics.

  • Imaginary fantasy – My long overdue set of photography and abstract digital painting art prints. Although this 40 megapixel image can be printed at ridiculously large A0+ sizes on canvas; I would personally suggest a smaller sized A3 (10.7×16 Inch) or A2 (16×23.9 inch) print with a white matted border on glossy paper (matte fine art paper will work too but I like the play of light glossy gives to prints) with non reflective acrylic or glass to protect it – frame it according to your preference but I would suggest not too thin nor too thick and fancy. Portrait/vertical orientated prints are great if you plan on hanging more than one next to each other on a wall in any living area or office space. For signed* prints, matted on fine art paper or printed and shipped unframed on canvas from myself the artist; contact me at Nico@soulmyst.com for further details. Certain future prints will be sold as *limited edition signed prints where the numbering would be limited to 10 for smaller sizes on fine art paper – single signed print on a very large satin canvas (1.2 or 1.5 meter in height) only and prices will vary from the open-ended unsigned prints sold through the internet. Further details will be given once I manage to finalize my personal website. Flickr Gallery http://www.flickr.com/photos/soulmyst/ P.S If you prefer to view this on imageKind do a search “soulmyst”
