    by April Cowan

    US$4.32–US$98.80

‘Atticus – ’ said Jem bleakly. ‘How could they do it, how could they?’ ‘I don’t know, but they did it. They’ve done it before and they did it tonight and they’ll do it again and when they do it – seems that only children weep. Good night.’ / “Harper Lee, To Kill A Mockingbird” Open to interpretation – I’d love to hear what you think, and see if i got across the point i was trying to.. / The reference photo was taken by frixen on DeviantART (www.frixen.deviantart.com)

Louisville, Kentucky USA 21 April 2008 10:06 PM EST This shot was NOT easy due to another photographer trying to take this same night shot using a flash. From this vantage point, the city is one mile away. He ruined 5 of my long exposures with his flash. Finally, I politely ask him to please let me get one good shot. / MCN: C30-NP3U-4430

  • Put An End To Racism
    by Daniel Rarela

    US$4.66–US$106.40

so, um… can somebody remind me again as to why somebody would hate somebody else on the basis of skin (or in this case, feather) color? (inspired by James Victore and Barbara Kruger, two of my favorite graphic designers!)

  • Right?
    by H M Bascom

    US$6.65–US$152.00

The 2008 Election was a step in the right direction toward putting America back on track to freedom, equality, and democracy. The rulers will act in secret, for reasons of “national security,” and the people will not be permitted to know what goes on in their name. Actions once unthinkable will be accepted as routine: government by executive fiat, state murder of “enemies” selected by the leader, undeclared wars, torture, mass detentions without charge, the looting of the national treasury, the creation of huge new “security structures” targeted at the populace. In time, this will be seen as “normal,” as the chill of autumn feels normal when summer is gone. It will all seem normal. By Chris Floyd, November 10, 2001 Moscow Times (English edition) / Quoted by Dr. Gary Alan Scott in The Rise of Fascism in America / MCN: C2DCD-CCAA4-A7AF9 FEATURED by C.O.R.E. Visit Active Art

  • Miracles of miracles 2000 to 2008 it never happened…poof…President King George W. Debacle Bush and his gang of water boarding torturers it was just a nightmare it never happened. The Iraqi War it never happened…Katrina it never happened…Republicans spending more money than any previous administrations and creating a huge government it never happened…The Wall Street Bailout it never happened…ask any Republican 2000 to 2008 it never happened. The Republican Party shrinking down to a sorry befuddle leaderless aimless none relevant Party of No is what they have become and that is a tragedy of denial. Until they repudiate the Rush Limbaugh’s and his ilk and deny the likes of Sarah Palin they will continue to become irrelevant…continuing to becoming Rushpublicans with Limbaughtomies and thrashing around like Republicansoreasses and that is the Party of Stooopid. Who knows just maybe they will come to their senses so far they are acting like monkey clowns grooming the scabs off their Republicansoreasses. Will they ever come to their senses and be Americans again? And does the world know that 2000 to 2008 never happened?

When I saw this trailer home in southern Indiana, I immediately thought of John Mellencamp’s song, Pink Houses. He is also from Indiana, USA and I believe this image is what he had in mind when he wrote the song. This image is part of the Americana Series. Click here to view the entire series. Pink Houses There’s a black man with a black cat livin’ in a black neighborhood / He’s got an interstate runnin’ through his front yard / You know he thinks that he’s got it so good / And there’s a woman in the kitchen cleanin’ up the evenin’ slop / And he looks at her and says, / “Hey darlin’, I can remember when you could stop a clock.” CHORUS: / Oh but ain’t that America for you and me / Ain’t that America somethin’ to see baby / Ain’t that America home of the free / Little pink houses for you and me There’s a young man in a T-shirt / Listenin’ to a rock-and-roll station / He’s got greasy hair, greasy smile / He says, “Lord this must be my destination.” / ‘Cause they told me when I was younger / “Boy you’re gonna be president.” / But just like everything else those old crazy dreams / Just kinda came and went CHORUS Well there’s people and more people / What do they know know know / Go to work in some high rise / And vacation down at the Gulf of Mexico / Ooh yeah / And there’s winners and there’s losers / But they ain’t no big deal / ‘Cause the simple man baby pays for the thrills, the bills, / the pills that kill CHORUS / / © 1983 John Mellencamp WATCH THE VIDEO PINK HOUSES HERE
