  • / Shoes available at Zazzle Flannels by Karin Taylor / This card is from an original ink and acrylic painting by Karin Taylor. / The colours and textures have been altered and added to in Photoshop. / I liked the idea of adding stitching and a stained glass effect…so it’s both quilted and stained glass at the same time …

  • Made this one a wee while ago, like a couple of weeks ago, and haven’t decided what to do with it. It’s called Tapestry because of it’s therapeutic value. There is a type of therapy called Tapestry therapy; it’s a bit hard to explain, though. Just, this reminded me of that. I sort of took several images that I had seen, took elements from them, and sewed them together, as it were, onto one image. So, it is a unique creation, but more of an homage to the thoughts and feelings brought out by works of others. I did not keep track of which others or which elements, and if I had, it would not be the same work. It is about feelings.. a response to the day that was. Inspiration is very important to my work, as I believe it is to all persons of similar desires, so .. if you happen to see something in here that you believe is related to your work, by all means ask or tell. And, if you are right, and especially if it is important to you, I shall add a mention of that fact here! Thank you! This is not for sale.

  • Oil Pastels (Original Sold) Concept: “If I were an owl, I will cover you with my wings on a cold winter night.” This is a piece I did many years ago, I did a mini series of what it would be like and what I would like to do if I were an owl :D So over here,I wanted to be a useful owl and make my wings into a colourful quilt and cover those in need of love and warmth.

  • I made this for a special Aunty.

  • My mother loved to read and had a wonderful collection of books: poetry, biography and some of the classics of literature. I remember as a child being fascinated with the colors and ornately embellished bindings. Working mostly from memory (first in watercolor and later in fabric), I tried to recreate a small portion of her library set against a backdrop of wallpaper yellowed with age.

  • This is an acetate/transparency film painting for my Oracle of birds.

  • Combining my favourites: dragonflies & waterlillies. Pieced background, applique, embroidery & beading.

But if you have VISTA, you’ll end up paying about 40 USD for the program, not the 9 USD they advertise. I don’t know about any other platforms.

  • I grew so tired seeing our young braves die / For change would come / God had showed me the vision / Of the People walking among the white men / With words of faith and growing stronger / The food was disapering from our lodge / And tree was becoming tall with funny openings / And the white walked sided by sided with us. / We became brothers / but not before much blood shead. / They killed our animal brothers for there skin.. / Where we only took in our need only. / But we Thank our brother for the food and his skin. / Where white men took with out thought or care. / But Then The great Sirit of God told / That we both had much to learn. / So we smoked the peace pipe / and offered the peace quilt. / To be fenced in like cattle lead to the slater. / And we waiting on the Day we became / Brothers as God saied we would. / But then it could be when the / Great spirit comes to take us home. / So we learn to forgive and we learn Gods mercy. / We learn that some will fall by the way sided / Because of the flaws of the fleash. / Both The white man and my People / Learn God is in controll / Not man as we was tolded. / And a Sadness filled my Spirit / For I knew it would take time. / For God saied wait on me… / This brought a peace to my spirit. / For God see us all as the same. /

  • I figured all these flower photos would look great as an evenly spaced grid… much like a quilt. Came up alright too I think…

  • I spent several years trying to make extra monies making crafts. The Santa and the horse in this photo were both made by me. I sold quite a few of the Santa’s but I tired of how time consuming they were, so I now no longer dabble in crafts. Christmas is the only time of year these two come out for display. Hope you enjoy! /
