A little pond near my home.The water was beginning to freeze,for me this scene shows the immobility we feel between two seasons.I have several shot of that pond,it’s a quiet place,I often go there just to be with myself and listen to the sound of nature.

MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD / Best viewed large. / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group COUNTRY ROADS/AROUND THE WORLD / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group NATURAL COLOR AND LIGHT / / / This is a recent photo of my favorite country road! It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road. This is a stretch of the Montgomery canal, it used to be part of the textile business, transporting goods to the major cities. Today it has fallen quiet, except for the abundant wildlife …... plans are afoot to reopen it, to boost tourism ....... its a fabulous place for walking, I did a 14 mile hike along it recently, from Welshpool to Newtown ….. Another capture of a lovely old barn not from from my home in Montgomery County, Maryland. We’ve had another remarkably wet summer … we don’t often see greens like this in July and August!!! Hand held mage taken in the early evening of July 9, 2009 with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter 1/250, aperture f/8.0, exp .33, iso 500. Two duplicates created in Photoshop to +1/-3 then processed in Photomatix to create this hdr image. A little tweaking in Painter for blending. Levels, dodging and burning in Photoshop.
