I would like everyones opinion about / 1- what sells- is it a view that makes a serene or emotive statement about the landscape? Is it a visual diorama unique and vibrant, or equally a quaint digital impression of paint strokes or a vector creation in line and tone? or maybe its something else? / lets not be vague here and say its in the eyes of the buyer- lets try and be specific…..can we ? / AND question 2- / How do you gauge the quality of your work in view to its saleability? / might it be about the content, the attention to the digital reproduction, the composition, whether it has a contemporary appeal,......is it just luck to find a buyer, or is it about exposure, in this case internet exposure, or in view of the proposed exhibition coming up, exhibition exposure???? / I would like to hear from the people who have bought work here and the people who have sold something, and everyone elses’ opinion especially those experienced in marketing. / I look forward to our discussion… / xxJiennxx

  • This bright mushroom almost leaped out at use while we were looking for lichen to macro. There were no others – not of any variety – so it seemed to stand there proudly. I’d almost expect to see it there months later, showing off brightly. LOL!

  • The Dutch choice these days is: walking or skating? Thousands and thousands have chosen the latter. And there are not many places where you can see the choice so nicely expressed as here along the Tienhovense Kanaal, the canal of Tienhoven, on this late afternoon. Actually I am very glad to be back on Redbubble after three days of being cut off from the internet. I missed you! I went out taking pictures, but had not chance of showing any of them to you. Neither could I see yours. That did not feel alright. Near Tienhoven, 10th January 2009, 3.39 pm / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 200 mm / F 22, 1/60, ISO 200

  • Question Mark ~ Polygonia interrogationis (Fabricius, 1798) / Canon EOS 30D Family: Brush-footed Butterflies (Nymphalidae) Subfamily: True Brushfoots (Nymphalinae) Identification: Forewing hooked; upperside is red-orange with black spots. Upperside hindwing of summer form is mostly black with a short tail; that of winter form has much orange and a longer, violet-tipped tail. Underside is light brown; hindwing with pearly white question mark in center. Life history: Males find females by perching on leaves or tree trunks in the afternoon, flying to chase other insects and even birds. Females lay eggs singly or stacked under leaves of plants that are usually not the hosts. Caterpillars must find a host plant; they then eat leaves and live alone. Adults of the winter form hibernate; some staying in the north, many migrating to the south. Flight: Overwintered adults fly and lay eggs in the spring until the end of May. The summer form emerges and flies from May-September, laying eggs that develop into the winter form; these adults appear in late August and spend the winter in various shelters. Wing span: 2 1/4 – 3 inches (5.7 – 7.6 cm). Caterpillar hosts: American elm (Ulmus americanus), red elm (Ulmus rubra), hackberry (Celtis), Japanese hop (Humulus japonicus), nettles (Urtica), and false nettle (Boehmeria cylindrica). Adult food: Rotting fruit, tree sap, dung, carrion. Only when these are unavailable do Question Marks visit flowers such as common milkweed, aster, and sweet pepperbush. Habitat: Wooded areas with some open space, city parks, suburbs, fencerows. Range: Southern Canada and all of the eastern United States except peninsular Florida, west to the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains, south to southern Arizona and Mexico.

  • We come here on our journey through the ages, suffering incredible hardships, fighting battles, often bearing the weight of the world on our shoulders and in our hearts, yet also doing great things, learning profound lessons and feeling the depths of both pain and joy. Lifetime after lifetime, we come back and do it again, trying to balance the love and the fear, hurting, healing, changing, struggling, evolving, overcoming, yet always wondering what this grand journey is all about. What pitiful little travelers we have been, plodding blindly through time with tears in our eyes. If only we knew the answer was something so very simple. We might just have done it a long time ago and saved ourselves a world of heartache. And got on with the real meaning of our existence. / ... / .. / We simply must let go of everything and just learn to love ourselves. / ... / .. / . So come on, drop the need to judge everyone around you so that you might temporarily feel a little better, stop looking at your reflection in others, not liking what you see, hell, stop looking in the mirror not liking what you see! Cast off the phony layers and acts, and the petty judgments, dispense with the blame and shame games, and most of all, be done with the disease of outrage that is spreading through our planet. Quit looking at what others have done or are doing and allowing outrage to colour your vision…….and then spread indignation to the next person. Outrage or In-rage, neither serve you or this planet. You do not need any of these things. None of them will make You genuinely feel better. The sooner we leave these old ways behind, the sooner we will be free and able to fly into the new energies that are unfolding for us at this time. You simply have to learn to love YOU. No ifs and buts, no excuses. / You are all you have and you are the one true thing that will last for the rest of your life. Time to face facts. Only YOU are capable of giving that great love that you seek and only you deserve the great love that you hold the capacity to give. Get this idea right and its all free flight from here….... Isn’t it time you made your own life easier?
