  • At Hunters Gorge on the Diamantina River in outback Queensland. The bird life here was amazing. The setting sun hit the gorge wall lighting it up glowingly and it then reflected in the still waters,I wached as slowly this pelecan drifted into the reflected glow of the golden sun.

  • The most amazing light fell over Rainbow Bay, QLD at sunset on the 8th of July. The wind dropped to nothing, the swell was glassy and the colours of the sky and water kept growing richer and richer until finally darkness took over. An amazing night to be out walking, surfing or taking snaps…I hope you can get the feel!

It was taken around 1990, using my old Minolta SLR (a great workhorse!). I have scanned this 6X8 print from my one of my portfolios, with basic editing in photoshop but basically it is as it was taken back then! • Noosa Main Beach, this is what Noosa is all about :) 3 Frame sunset HDR, one of the frames had this pelican flying overhead, all three had the still surfer. Pelican pasted back over the ghosted figure the HDR created. Noosa Main Beach, Noosa Heads, Queensland. Canon 50D, 10mm, 16:9 crop.

  • First storm to hit the area in over 6 months, I was so excited!! Straight to my chosen spot and took hundreds of shots, just waiting for that moment. The sky was so extreme, there was no wind, no rain, just the crazy clouds, and lightning! The rain of course was close, but I managed to get this before it started to pour :) Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland. the boat is the same subject in River Living and I was very thankful it was still for this to work. Canon 50D, 10mm, 16:9 crop. Available large, and best viewed large! :)

  • Yes I know, another sunset shot of the Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland, Australia. I just can’t help myself, I love this time of day and place, and I have to say, this afternoons sunset was the best yet. I honestly had to desaturate this shot. It was amazing orange, everything around you was glowing orange, the sky lit up!! My wife even said at the time, she had never seen anything like it. Canon 50D, 10mm, 20% desaturate, as the raw was just too orange… Available Large, and best viewed Large.. The full size print of this can be 1.5 metres x 1 metre.

  • This has to be one of my favorite shots I have taken to date, as I was shooting Fiery Skies I noticed a pelican in the distance incomming, I raced back to this palm I had in the shots earlier, as I knew the fisherman to the left of frame would get the pelicans attention… Paid off, one of the frames used in this shot was a cool timing pelican landing :) I carefully pasted out the other captures of this pelican in the other frames, so the one was clear in the HDR. I was almost going to paste in the whole landing sequence, as I pumped up the ISO to get the camera shooting at max fps. I hope you enjoy this shot, was real fun making it, and shooting it! Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland, Australia. Canon 50D, 10mm, 20% desaturate, as the raw was just too orange… Available Large, and best viewed Large..

  • Another of the beautiful features of Noosa Heads, is Weyba Creek and Lake Weyba. Just before the Noosa River exits to the Pacific Ocean, there is a offshoot called Weyba Creek. This feeds from Lake Weyba, nestled in the Noosa National Park area, Queensland, Australia. These river systems are all part of the Noosa Biosphere, and are home to many species of bird and animal life. Much of it, untouched by man, which is the way is should stay… Canon 50D, 16mm, 5:00pm. Available Large and best viewed Large! :)

  • Ok, time to get serious now. This is a bridge across an estuary at South West Rocks, NSW….gorgeous place, lovely scene. We arrived here just on sunset, so had to very quickly find something to photograph…..as we do :) This was shot the next morning, on the way home…. • I shot this one after my return from Tasmania, and while I was shooting it, it reminded me of the sunset on the Tasman Peninsula. So I’ll post them both on the same day.. It’s Tasmania v Noosa… :) I know it’s not really an even playing field with the pelican there, but I did wait 10-15 mins in the Tassy area, and not one bird flew by. Lake Doonella, Noosaville, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 50D, 10mm. Available large and best viewed Large!!

  • Dicky Beach Caloundra,Queensland,Australia canon 400D

  • The beautiful Granite Bay in Noosa National Park. The more I visit this place, the more I fall in love with the area. There is always birds flying around, beautiful rock pools, just waiting to be discovered. Some of the larget pools make a lovely smooth base pool too :) Granite Bay, Noosa National Park, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 35mm, 16:9 crop.
