  • Because of copyrights it is not possible to show an image with the use / deformation of the olympic rings in order to show ideas about Chinese politics. This limit helped to come up with this idea.

  • Most of the Dutch people celebrate queensday the 30th of april, although her birthday is in january. Because of the climate Queen Beatrix kept the date from her mothers birthday to celebrate. A day many people and schools have off. A day you can go and sit outdoor with all kind of activities, games, and food and your second hand stuff for sale. The queen herself is visiting each year different cities and villages to celebrate with the people. / Far from the Netherlands i offer my t-shirt for sale! Happy Queensday!   • Incendia + PSP / April 30, 2009 A festive day that ended dramatically…. (read the updates) Today it’s ‘Koninginnedag’ (Queensday) in the Netherlands, the celebration of the queen’s birthday. Actually it’s not her birthday at all, but her mother’s, who would have been 100 years today. As Queensday had become such an institution under the ‘old’ queen Juliana, her daughter Beatrix decided not to change the date. She also did this to honour her mother. / I’m not such a celebrater myself :), but I wish everyone in the Netherlands a happy day…... Veel plezier op Koninginnedag….:) Update at 14.00 pm / What should have been a festive day, ended in a horror scene. / A terrible accident happened on the route where the Royal family was driving along the crowd in a bus. A car crashed through the public and barely missed the bus. Fourteen people in the audience were injured and up till now there are two dead. All festivities in the country have been cancelled. This is a very very sad day for the Dutch people and the Royal family. / My deepest feelings go to the injured and dead and their relatives…....... / I’m so very very sad and also angry that things like this happen in this world….... Update 16.00 pm / Four dead now…... our queen just appeared on TV and she was almost in tears…. and looked a 100 years older…..... / I just went out for a little walk, and the streets were deserted…....   • heartfelt blessings for the Netherlands yesterday in Apeldoorn…on Queen’s Day, tragedy struck. the day which commemorates the birth of Queen Beatrix’s mother, millions of people take the day off, dress in orange wigs and hats and hold street parties. people died and a nation mourns. the events were cancelled and flags were at half-mast. news i thought last night and this morning on my walk… why this happens…looking into my own beliefs of what is good and what is evil. and the untold stories of why. i feel with you..xxx and i put in my thoughts..one world and one people..
