One of the very few places in the old City of Senglea, Malta, which survived the countless day and night air-raids of WWII. These old steps, made of hard-wearing lower coralline limestone, lead from the once very busy Senglea sea-front to the centre of the City. Only time can tell how many people of different nationalities have made use of them since their construction during the time of the French Grand Master Fra Claude de la Sengle (who ruled between 1553 and 1557) some 450 years ago. Colour Representation: sRGB / Focal length: 84mm / F Number: F/9 / Exposure Time: 1/250 secs / Metering Mode: Spot / 6 copies of a single hand-held shot taken with an Olympus E330 DSLR, processed at 1/3 EV stops and merged together with the original in Photomatix Pro3

For everyone who likes my “Quarter Horse Broodmare” shot, here is the resulting wee bundle of joy – a quarter horse colt named Nevada Pale Moon. When he was born, the owners & I all thought he was a cremello (a double cream gene resulting in a cream rather than golden coat colour), and this opinion was further enhanced by those wonderful blue eyes (another genetic factor for cremellos). However, as he grew older & lost his baby fuzz, the underlying coat was revealed to be golden after all. Some research on horse colour genetics followed & it was discovered Pale Moon is one of a very small percentage of blue-eyed palominos! I fell in love with him when he was just a few hours old, it was tempting to add horse number eight to the herd (right up until I thought about the winter feed costs!) Part of the old Native American Indian quarters of San Antonio’s San Jose Spanish Mission, Texas, USA. This 18th century mission is very well restored and is one of five in the San Antonio area, The Alamo probably being the most well known. This whole area is full of wonderful well documented and well displayed history. These outbuildings (in this case, a long, low ceilinged log barn…)are located in the back quarter of my Grandfather’s land in Northern Saskatchewan. You used to be able to go inside of the adjacent homestead, where there was still a stove, wallpaper, furniture…now its actually been reabsorbed by the trees and bush so thick i couldn’t get through to it. So, i settled for this sturdy building, dappled in the shade with moss growing on its roof, i liked this angle by the trees.
this is the guest room of the Ca D Zan / ( Sarasota, Florida, Ringling Brothers Museum) The Ca D’Zan The sixth of the seven Ringling brothers of Baraboo, Wisconsin, John Ringling was one of the founders of the famous circus. He and his wife vacationed in Sarasota in the early 1900’s and purchased their bayfront property in 1912. , Ca d’Zan, now stands. Combining their love for Sarasota with their love of baroque art, they decided to build a museum on the estate grounds and fill it with the finest paintings and objects that they could ever buy. When John Ringling died, he left to the State of Florida over 600 paintings, including the world’s largest private collection of works by Peter Rubens, and lots of other objects – prints, drawings, sculptures, antiques, pottery, jewelry, and furniture. Today, visitors from around the world visit this wonderful complex looking over Sarasota Bay. The Art Museum, Ca d’Zan, the Ringling Mansion and the Museum of the Circus are all open to the public for a single admission. The beautifully landscaped grounds contain over 400 kinds of Florida trees, plants and flowers, garden figures and Mable’s historic rose garden. The Banyan Cafe is open for lunch or a snack. Visitors can browse through three gift shops located on the grounds. Sony Cybershot DSC H 7
