Amidst the great forests of East Gippsland this remote pocket is one of countless areas under threat from logging. Walking along the southern-most street in Mendocino, CA is a great thing to do in early summer. The flowers are in every yard and some yards are…well, you wouldn’t believe it if I told you. Overwhelming is the best way I can describe it. :-) One of the fences facing the street had some colour begging to come out and play so I snatched a picture of it before it found a playmate.

Artwork from Ireland. I came across this little old cottage in The Aran Islands off the coast of County Clare/ County Galway on the west coast of Ireland. I’m sure there was a pot of tea brewing on the stove there many many years ago. These tiny fields are dating from The Great Irish Famine of the 1840’s Ireland. That’s the sea in the background. There is a model of an old Cracker House near the Museum in downtown Ft. Myers, Fl. This is just a small peek inside the house. Taken with my Nikon Coolpix P80 camera. Saturation added for effect.

I took this from a bus, while traveling between Madrid and Valencia, in Spain. I have no idea what this little village is called, but it was like something out of a movie. We past several of these on the 6 hour bus trip across the country. Spain has some spectacular scenery and quaint villages that almost seem trapped in time. Layered the original image twice, adjusted contrast and tone slightly. Added a texture layer from www.deviantart.com free use stock. Layered the texture several times over, adjusting the constrast, saturation and lightness on each to vary the colour and tone. Canon SX100IS MCN: CPPLS-ALHT7-XR34Q
