A continuation of the ‘car park’ theme. This one was inspired by Enrico Bettesworth’s ‘Underworld’ and Andrew Brown’s ‘Underground’. My challenge was to interpret this site differently from those two artists. I hope I have been partially successful in achieving this.

right at the moment I’m editing a book of bridge crossing and what to add a page that speaks about the 250 000 people who walked across Sydney Harbour bridge in 2000 in support of reconcilation. I’ve unearthed a new lot of old negatives from this day and am spending the day scanning and cleaning them up….... so my question in regard to this image is….is it a bit to abstract? can you tell its taken on the deck of the Bridge? It will be in with around 150 or so other images of various bridge crossings so the context is there but still I still have a few days to complete this and want to make sure I get the right image…......

The remains of Cremorne wharf Sydney. The wharf sank during storms on the 9th of June 2007.

Intended as a companion shot to the “Sydney Harbour Bridge (Int)” shot, I really wanted a second photo of the Sydney Harbour Bridge that wasn’t a standard-style one. The Harbour Bridge Pylons are the focus here, and the thing about them is that they’re actually purely decorative – they serve no engineering or structural purpose at all. (or so the tourist literature tells me!)
