  • A February storm unleashes its power in the beauty of non-stop lightning over Spencer Gulf in South Australia. This 15 second exposure shows just a small sample of a spectacular night’s viewing. The tiny lit chimney, that you can see on the left (which belongs to the lead smelter in Port Pirie), is actually 205 metres in height, which gives perspective to this, the power of natures finest glory.

  • Eilean Donan Castle, winter 2007

  • I was traveling each day between Albury and my son’s farm at Wymah, while attending APSCON, and noticed this little chapel erected in memory of the pioneers. Anyway I could not resist the temptation for a couple of shots when the rain clouds followed me up the highway. The purple is my favourite flower…..... NOT! We call it “Salvation Jane”, most call it correctly – Paterson’s Curse. The chapel is just short of a place called Bowna, NSW, Australia

  • just another one from my lightning category

  • Took it today as a huge storm was rolling in. It’s still IR. / / / / / / /

  • Acrylic mixed media on canvas, inks used then hit with water spray, tilting canvas to created the desired result, Acrylic paint straight from the tube onto the canvas, hit with water spray and then hands in swishing and swirling the colours to create the background….Without loosing the pure colour…...The birds were placed in with very little brush work, again using the dulux house paint for texture in the feathers and my trusting hairdresing comb to spread the paint…. / Original for sale…. 1500cm x 950cm / created around the same time as Summer Love Song, in a different style, this has more movement and freedom in the background, and more colour in the birds…. / enjoy guys Cheers Kym

  • Captured in Cave Creek, Arizona, this was at the end of a short but powerful storm. The lightning was much too close, couldn’t stand with the tripod, just ran to it between strikes. Didn’t get too many keepers that night, but was happy with this one. Wish I had a better foreground, but sometimes you have to take what you can get. / / Other lightning shots: / / / /

  • Made in Ultra Fractal 5. As this Montana winter wears on, I’ve tried to recapture the magic of the first time I lived through a cold winter. I grew up in Hollywood and only saw the snow on short trips to Big Bear. First Snow was featured in FRACTAL FRENZY and COLOR ME A RAINBOW. / Featured in A FASCINATING PURPLE on April 2, 2009.
