... as called by the early Spanish explorers… meaning… Sand Bar Point… otherwise known as the Point Arena Lighthouse… on the beautiful and very scenic coastline in Mendocino county… California….
Taken Nikon D40, 18-55mm, at 18mm. A winters day in Spain. As it goes it didn’t actually rain and as the day ends it is brilliant sunshine. / /
One of the only unspoilt stretches of beach around here but no doubt the corrupt powers to be will allow this to be destroyed in the next decade, once the current depression is over. Nikon D40 18-55mm at 18mm Spain on a winters day taken whilst walking Boots with my daughter….... / /
Sorry guys but another shot from our little stroll with Boots this morning. It’s lovely to see grass and weeds and wildflowers growing, as most of the year it is just brown dead vegetation. A winters morning in Spain. / /

Landscape of Corse
The Resort was the Majestic Colonial a 5*+ establishment in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The whole compound was shaped like a U with the main buildings, lobby, restauraunts, casino, spa, theatre, bars etc positioned towards what I considered the back giving access to the road, and two arms of rooms stretching out on either side to the south facing the ocean. Everything was open air and between both arms and on either side of the U shape were gardens, man-made lakes as well as the largest swimming pool I have ever seen or heard of winding its way through the middle of the whole compound to the ocean at the other end. We were fortunate to have a room located on the other side of this arm on the third floor, within two minutes of both the ocean and the tail end of the pool, and we spent the early part of the morning taking in the incredible ocean view and sipping strong Dominican coffee on our balcony. At night we could hear the surf on the shoreline. This shot was taken on one of my early morning explorations (6:45 AM) just as the sun rose… Majestic Colonial
This shot is looking towards the resort from the end of the pool, early morning (6:45 AM). Behind me is the ocean. The pool meandered its way throughout the middle of the property and we counted six bridges that spanned its width enabling the passage of the vacationers from one side to the other. This was my first winter vacation to a hot climate country and I am thinking that it will be difficult to match this experience in years to come. The resort was beautiful, the service outstanding, the cleanliness and maintenance of the area was excellent (they had people raking and cleaning the beach every morning and this did not occur at other resorts I visited on my walks) and every attempt was made to fulfill our every wish. I found that the staff that worked for this organization were trained very well. The Dominican people were so friendly, smiling, singing and dancing for us throughout the day and definitely showing us a “joie de vivre” that we could certainly learn from! / February 2009, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Shot with my Canon G5 and colour-adjusted slightly in Photoshop. Punta Diabolo is a cute little fishing village and beach town near the Brazilian border.
A collection of images from the trip of a lifetime with my good friend Marlene to the Dominican Republic, February 2009. It was an Air Canada vacation and we stayed at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana. This resort was outstanding! The meals were delicious served in a variety of fabulous restaurants, the beach and views incredible, the ocean was a warm turquoise, and a fantastic pool stretched from one side of the resort to the other. The service was wonderful as the staff is comprised of a warm, joyful and gracious Dominican people that went out of their way to ensure our stay was everything we dreamed of! / I would not hesitate to recommend this area and resort to anyone!
Beautiful place here in Callao, Peru. Once we got lucky and while sitting on the beach we could watch the pelicans flying around and playing in the water. Cam: Fujifilm FinePix S5600
