This took six hours to create. Was it worth it? I’m not too sure myself but I’ll let you decide. The flowers were created from a single petal as a separate 18 layer image. This was then flattened and brought into the main image where the stems, leaves, texture and background were added.

This is one of my best images I think, that I ever took. / It’s a Tasmanian Currawong taken on my last trip to Cradle Mountain. ( not a crow and not a raven ) / With this intense stare, I thought it good enough to give it another whirl. / I also think that it is very Gothic, as it is kept simple and to the point. / Also, the stare gets into your soul. / Whenever I look at it, I seem to get shivers up the back of my neck…. / Taken with a p&s Panasonic Lumix FZ30. ========================== All profits from the sale of this work will be donated to Wildlife-Appeal. / . Just click on the image to download each page as a .jpg file. Note that this tutorial is for private use only and copyright protection is in force. Thanks very much, I hope you find it useful, Simone :) Disclaimer Please bare in mind this tutorial was written for those who have very little experience with, or knowledge of Photoshop. It is in no way a definitive guide to using photoshop, it is however a great starting point for those who are just beginning and feel overwhelmed with the complexities of more advanced tutorials. It is also NOT a substitute for good sound photography skills. It will not magically turn a poorly taken image into a spectacular one, only time, experience, patience and practice with your camera will do that.
