Our society’s addiction to oil and oil based products is threatening the human race. Corporate greed is compromising human rights and the environment through pollution and global warming. Things must change before it’s too late. This t-shirt is designed to quickly communicate the relationship between oil consumption and human suffering. The image of a hand gun and the use of the colour red represents blood and human suffering (so I would recommend a red t-shirt, but it still works on other colours). The fuel pump nozzle and use of black represents oil and petrol consumption. The link between the two items is the ‘trigger’, each of which is designed to be levered by the human finger. The ‘Oil Kills’ global message defies language barriers; selling to buyers in USA, UK, Canada, Europe and Australia. This t-shirt was featured most recently in the group ‘James Bond 007’ in January 2009. It has also been featured on the main t-shirts page and in many other groups.

Because of copyrights it is not possible to show an image with the use / deformation of the olympic rings in order to expose ideas about the Chinese politics. This limit however has helped to come up with this idea. The shirt could be usefull as a sport outfit in prisons as well… Other publicity / campaigns / contributions about the Beijing Olympics you can find here collected by a Dutchman in the advertisement world and here collected by Redbubble member Robinson. This was in protest of the death of a cyclist on Montreal street who was hit by a motorist. / It was incredible. Rue Ste. Catherine was shut down in the late afternoon on a Saturday. Closed the city for ten minutes. / It was beautiful. / I would say that it made a lot of Montreal motorists angry, but that would mean the protesters really had no effect. I’m a bit paranoid about doing any kind of iconic based images at the moment, due to finding other people may have done similar stuff. The last one being the grenade with a brain that i did…someone pointed out it already existed. And when i searched it up further on google…there were several(4? that i found easily) of them from stencils to one even closer to the one i designed…pin and stuff on the same side…it was done as a belt buckle so…anyway, away it went! But here goes…i did try and run it by those who might know but…not online at the moment. I did google a whole bunch of things to check if anything similar was about…but came up with nothing so i’m putting it up. Wish me luck. / . / ps- i did find a sculpture of a gun with a knot in it, flowers in the barrel…but no handshakes. / . / . /
